I'm just wondering in light of all the information that's come out about the inefficacy of masks since we were last asked to mask up, do people of this site feel it's just fine that it's rumored we will be asked to mask again this October on flights?   I haven't seen any studies with any credibility showing masks make much if any difference in containing Covid.  It's rumored that by December, we will be returning to masking up in restaurants, bars, etc.   I wonder if people are going to abide by this, or if there is a much bigger fight to come.  The rumblings are all over that it's coming..

I find this pretty unlikely considering the facts are out there about mask use,  largely undisputed,  and doing so at the onset of a presidential election year would most likely seal a win for the republicans IMO.  only a few holdouts still think that mask are an effective and safe way to prevent the spread and they are doing it voluntarily.  I can them required again ( during flu season ) in nursing homes and hospitals,  but I find it very unlikely that whoever is handling Biden and the health agencies would allow something this vote shifting to take place without some new tech or data that would be supported by most currently dissenting professionals.
Admittedly the loudest echoes are coming from conservative sites, but some people that have been right before are saying this.  Already one college down south is forcing the vaxx on their students to attend school.  There's a new variant that sounds like a weak but flexible variant out there starting to steal the headlines.  Usually, this has been the prelude to tightening up the restrictions.  I have to hope that people say NO to any masking when entering the grocery stores etc.  The medical clinics will get away with it because well I don't know why, but my guess is we'll definitely see them there because people will likely accept it.  I plan to raise holy hell this time around if asked to mask up.  They'll be doing this forever if they get away with it again.
there will always be a "new variant" that is what viruses do,  they mutate,  anybody that thinks that is a reason to try and let drug companies play whack a mole with unproven drugs on their bodies... well thats entirely up to them,   as far as a college mandating it,  I assume that is a private college and as such has every right to mandate it from their students and faculty,  just like those people have every right to seek employment/education elsewhere.

if private facilities want to mandate masks,  so be it,  that is their right,  it really pissed me off last go round listening to people piss and moan about private businesses that made those decisions on their own.  if you people dont like it... go spend your money elsewhere.  Now when the govt gets involved,  then I take issue,  especially once there are facts contrary to the previous believed science.  as far as your holy hell.... unless its a govt mandate and you dont like it, go spend your money somewhere else?

So once again, here are the true numbers from the WHO on Covid-19 death rate.  At the outset, the reported numbers were reported at over 3% I believe, the actual over-reported number by most accounts ended up at below .9%.  This in my opinion led to masking and shutdowns that were totally unwarranted.  Because it's Zerohedge, some will complain, without acknowledging that this are the WHO's own numbers.   Pretty major thing to know about the "facts", and important material the next time the govt. tries to force the jab.  No, masking and the jab did not result in a 66% reduction in my opinion.  In fact, over time I don't really think it reduced anything at all.  Once the truth is really told and we find out that the jab is the root cause of the spiraling all-death rate in the next few years, perhaps we'll get the rest of the story as Paul Harvey coined.

i would agree with you but for the fact that the govt started to use arm twisting to force many businesses into compliance. If you wanted equal treatment in terms of funding, tax breaks or contracts, you damn well better comply with Joe and companies wishes.  when businesses still resisted they were told that the vaxx was necessary.  So, in theory I agree but in practice, it wasnt the way it went down.

Didn't hear any of that shit around here.  SD basically said FU to DC mandates and I dont recall any federal issues as a result.

That's not the case in the Land of Lincoln.  lol   You don't have to ever search for corruption, it's right in front of ya at all times.  And both the federal and state screws are put to businesses that don't comply with the way they're supposed to go.  I was very lucky my company never went that direction with the forced vaxx.  But, I was prepared to leave if the company or govt forced the jab upon me.  It sucks when you're employed for years and they shove you out for this crap.  I particularly feel bad for military members and many nurses who were forced to get jabbed.

thats hardly a fair lithmus for the nation,  might as well say NY or the west coast.  IMO it should be a state/local matter.  if people want to vote in dictators locally then they need to live by them,  if people dont want to live that way,  then get the hell out of those states.  I feel for people that are truly stuck,  but honestly I dont think that many are really stuck,  for most its a decision that would require a sacrifice they dont want to make,  but at least that is their choice.

I mean I also can commit suicide and the problem is over as well.  But, should we be forced to take a jab because corrupt govt business alliances?  Should certain companies be able to limit freedom of speech, your ability to own a firearm etc?  We’re talking about the scope and reach of their powers especially with regard to something that is unproven and dealing with our own health decisions.  I agree with you on many levels.  It’s why I left the city of Chicago.  But, at some point, I believe your views are jaded versus reality based on the fact that you live where you live.  And like it or not, there aren’t nearly as many opportunities out there as you cite for people with families and other responsibilities.  You can’t just choose to up and leave at a moment’s notice and do right by your family.  You taking the jab may be the sacrifice you need to make to support them.  And that’s total bs for a vaccine that didn’t go through proper testing and forced on through acts never before utilized in this country.

Secret Letter To CDC: Top Epidemiologist Suggests Agency Misrepresented Scientific Data To Support Mask Narrative | ZeroHedge
I find this pretty unlikely considering the facts are out there about mask use,  largely undisputed,  and doing so Admittedly the loudest echoes are coming from conservative sites, but some people that have been right before are saying this. They'll be doing this forever if they get away with it again.
there will always be a "new variant" that is what viruses do,  they mutate,  anybody that thinks that is a reason to try and let drug companies play whack a mole with unproven drugs on their bodies... well thats entirely up to them,
How do you feel stuck to stay in a liberal state?  With jobs available every where you look,  how can people not be able to relocate,   now more than ever in our nations history?

Govt overreach has always been there on liberal states,  you made choices in the past to put you there,   you are making choices now to stay there.  I've had multiple chances to leave SD for other jobs,  but where I live is more important than how much I make or some other things.   I'm not saying my choice is the right answer,  but we all have made choices that contribute to our situations.  Especially since covid I have had about a half dozen opportunities,   but the uncertainty of our country has been a huge part of not leaving a conservative state.
