Thanks for your thoughts.

I guess I don't see where the problem is.  The PE firm, Affinity partners, has made a few investments so far including Mosaic, the Solar funding company.  Too early to tell the results.  PE firms get their money on the back end so we won't know how it turns out for a while.  The Saudis are on the board and involved in the investments.  They obviously like and respect Kushner.  They respected his efforts to negotiate peace.  He should have won the peace prize that year.  He's not involved in politics in any way and has already said he won't be involved in a second Trump term so not a conflict of interest. Where's the issue?  Is he green at PE?  Sure.  He's negotiated some fairly large deals in the past so he's not new to that.  He only makes money if he makes money.  Not sure how this falls in the same category as Hunter.  Except for the articles such as the one you posted which are full of innuendo...I don't see anything substatiantive.

You're always welcome in these parts.

Be suspect of all information Waterboy.  Because of the hyperpoliticization of the media, tt takes a lot of time these days to gather up information from vaious sourced.  You don't think they get anything wrong at Zerohedge?  Really?
just had this conversation with a woman earlier today,  she was so convinced there is a day of reckoning coming for a lot of the things that the conservatives have taken issue with in the last few years because of x and y and z,  I told her I am not holding my breath and to be sure of her sources before sharing to much.   I didnt want to get to pushy though as she was giving me a hair cut and I really didnt want a dick shaved into the back of my skull.

Funny, I get criticized for citing Business Insider, MSNBC, and NPR and Politifact.  Applying Badger test above: "Do you know anybody on the [Left] that ever quotes [Zerohedge]?

But lets look at Zerohedge:
  • U.S. intelligence officials on Tuesday accused a conservative financial news [Zerohedge] website with a significant American readership of amplifying Kremlin propaganda and alleged five media outlets targeting Ukrainians have taken direction from Russian spies.  https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/us-accuses-financial-website-spreading-russian-propaganda-rcna16289
  •  "A former Zero Hedge employee named Colin Lokey, who says he earned more than $100,000 in a year writing much of the site’s political content, claimed that he felt pressure to frame issues in a misleading way. “I tried to inject as much truth as I could into my posts, but there’s no room for it,” Lokey told Bloomberg in 2016. “Russia=good. Obama=idiot. Bashar al-Assad=benevolent leader. John Kerry=dunce. Vladimir Putin=greatest leader in the history of statecraft.”  https://newrepublic.com/article/156788/zero-hedge-russian-trojan-horse
  • The Rand company accused Zerohedge of amplifying Russian propaganda: "These entities include news aggregators, far-right or far-left sites, blogs,
and users drawn in by clickbait headlines that reinforce their previously held beliefs, in addition to media outlets that frequently echo the
Kremlin line but are not obviously affiliated with Russia, such as Zero
Hedge (PropOrNot Team, 2016). Figure 2.2 shows the insular and circular nature of Zero Hedge’s referrer network."  https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/research_reports/RR2200/RR2237/RAND_RR2237.pdf
  • Zero Hedge was banned from the Google Ads platform on 17 June 2020. An email from Google to NBC said that Zero Hedge violated Google's content policy that "explicitly prohibit[s] derogatory content that promotes hatred, intolerance, violence or discrimination based on race from monetizing."
  • Several sources with connections to the Bulgarian government told me that they suspected Zero Hedge may be a Trojan horse as well. “I trust it is a project of Bulgarian intelligence,” a former senior Bulgarian government official told me. “It is unlikely that they would embark on their own without the backing or funding from Moscow.”
  • Overall, we rate ZeroHedge an extreme right-biased conspiracy website based on the promotion of false/misleading/debunked information that routinely denigrates the left. (8/18/2016) Updated (M. Huitsing 09/28/2022).  https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/zero-hedge/
  • "In recent months, Zero Hedge has published numerous articles that accused the U.S. of fomenting panic about Ukraine, which now faces the possibility of an invasion by more than 130,000 Russian troops massed on several sides of the country. Some of those articles are listed as being written by people affiliated with the Strategic Culture Foundation.  The Biden administration sanctioned the foundation last year for allegedly taking part in Russia’s interference in the 2020 U.S. election. U.S. intelligence officials allege the foundation’s leaders ultimately take direction from the SVR, the Russian foreign intelligence service."  https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-coronavirus-pandemic-health-moscow-media-ff4a56b7b08bcdc6adaf02313a85edd9

I think they've been far more accurate regarding Hunter's misdeeds than the mainstream media and social media.  I think if Biden were doing anything well, they would not comment on him doing so.  I think they're motivated to tell the conservative side of the story, but I know that going in.  I knew for SURE that the major media outlets would NEVER give Trump credit for anything.   So basically, I'm agreeing with you.  But, at the same time 90% of the media sources are on the liberal side of the fence, so I may come off as generalizing.

Hahaha, this is like Biden's press secretary citing former Biden officials as "experts" who said the offsets of all the new govt. spending programs essentially meant that people under $400k in income weren't being taxed more, when their taxes were spiraling.  But your bullet points are impactful. lol You start out citing biased sources with "opinions", not facts.  Zerohedge mostly prints their opinion pieces from people who are not colluding with the govt., but rather being threatened by it.  Big difference.

Sorry, I prefer my news sources not to:

  1. Incorporated in Bulgaria.
  2. Many articles (including the one that started this thread) are "written" by Tyler Durden of Fight Club fame.
  3. Accused by the Rand Corporation of amplifying Russian propaganda
  4. Accused by US Intelligence agencies of taken direction from Russian spies
  5. Kicked off of Google Ad Sense for posting derogatory content that promotes hatred, intolerance, violence or discrimination based on race
  6. Kicked off of Twitter because it had violated the social media platform's "rules against abuse and harassment."
  7. Whose former employee described his work as follows: "“I tried to inject as much truth as I could into my posts, but there’s no room for it."
But I guess I am just picky.

Waterboy -- aren't you a little bit worried that you are acting as a stooge for a communist regime that wants to destroy the USA?

Zerohedge really is a rabbit hole.  Really funny that Waterboy has create a long thread based on Russian propaganda (and I, embarrassingly, fed into it).
  • From the Globe and Mail:  "The montage, on American news site ZeroHedge, depicted Hitler, with a purple streak in his hair, as a gay-rights activist. He appears with a rainbow-coloured slogan “California Uber Alles” in Gothic script familiar in the Third Reich, against a map of Europe including “gay Britain.”  Newsguard, a New York-based group that tracks misinformation, warns that Zerohedge “has a pro-Russia perspective” and has published false information and conspiracy theories."  https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-companies-misinformation-google-ads/
  • "A new study by Douglas Wilbur, a visiting scholar in the UTSA Department of Communication, examines the claims made by the fact-checking website Prop or Not that Russian propaganda targets the American public. He found evidence that popular sites such as Zero Hedge, a Wall Street focused site, echoes Russian propaganda in line with the claims leveraged by Prop of Not. Wilbur analyzed over 600 articles and found a strong, positive correlation between Sputnik, Russia’s state-owned media, and popular alternative media sites that are thought to provide favorable coverage in the U.S. of Russia and its allies."  https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/925340
  • "ZeroHedge and pro-Kremlin Russian media outlet Komsomolyskaya Pravda incorrectly cited the testimony of Sakri, whose interview appeared in a controversial documentary produced by allegedly independent journalists Max van der Werff and Yana Yerlashova (formerly of Kremlin outlet RT). .... In particular, the article claimed without any supporting evidence that the United States was using the MH17 crash as a pretext to organize a NATO invasion of eastern Ukraine."  https://medium.com/dfrlab/false-mh17-crash-narrative-spreads-from-the-united-states-to-russia-98433cb5870a

Didn't expect this article today, despite the timing, sometimes a coincidence is a coincidence:

"House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said Thursday that Jared Kushner, former President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser while in office, “crossed the line of ethics” by accepting a $2 billion investment from the Saudi government in his private investment firm six months after he left the White House."  https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-...audi-deal/

Two conservative law professors, William Baude of the University of Chicago and Michael Stokes Paulsen of the University of St. Thomas, argue that Donald Trump is ineligible to serve as president again due to a section of the Constitution that prohibits anyone who has engaged in insurrection from holding office.

"Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment forbids holding office by former office holders who then participate in insurrection or rebellion. Because of a range of misperceptions and mistaken assumptions, Section Three’s full legal consequences have not been appreciated or enforced. This article corrects those mistakes by setting forth the full sweep and force of Section Three.  It covers a broad range of former offices, including the Presidency. And in particular, it disqualifies former President Donald Trump, and potentially many others, because of their participation in the attempted overthrow of the 2020 presidential election."  https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=4532751
