Carter is interesting. I remember coming into the year all the talk was he was going to be Army's first 1st round pick since what, Staubach? 15.5 sacks in 2021. Production dropped substantially last season and he was banged up. I'm not sure what the Army commitment is currently. I'm assuming he would be available for training camp, but not sure. His frame is outstanding and he will get bigger and stronger with an NFL SC program. Lots of potential and I am surprised he went undrafted
Staubach was from Anapolis not Army, he was drafted in the 10th round

That's right...good call. So maybe Army has never had a first round pick

I read somewhere (not sure if it was here or elsewhere) that athletes in the armed services (or maybe just Army) have weight restrictions? Meaning this guy has had to keep his weight down....and the thinking is he's going to be able to explode now physically without those restrictions and a NFL weight program.

Correct. Army is 6'8" for height and 243 lbs. for weight. Marines go up to 267 lbs. Navy 241 lbs.

Carter was 6'6"+ and 256 lbs. at the combine. He'll conceivably be a 275-280 lbs. guy with good explosiveness at that frame now that he can put on weight. His 40 time was not great, but short area drills were pretty good.
