This is probably the one guy I would have hated seeing in a different uniform. I know these are business decisions, and I’m glad he wanted to stay in Minnesota.
I don't know why more players don't do this. When you're in your last year or two, it seems like it would just make more sense to have a little self-awareness, take a pay cut and stay where your family is, where your friends are, and retire from the team who drafted you and avoid that awkward one-year dislocation at the end of your career. I've never understood the burning desire to uproot everything and learn a new scheme just to make a dollar more.
I fully agree and expected AT to do this too. Maybe he still will after hitting the open market for a bit, but it seemed strange that he wouldn't take a pay cut to stay in his home state.

I didn't have that expectation since they basically live in Orlando now. He wants to see what is out there I guess. I don't know what the role will be, he certainly won't be the number one guy. He could be a mentor. The market is thin so he could benefit money wise. We'll see what happens

Yeah, it does seem weird. Matt Birk said he really wanted to try something else, different coach, different city and he came away with a ring. I think it was also him that said it is nice to be wanted, wined and dined.

Straight cash hommie. Straight cash.

At 34, it was wise on his part to take the hit. And getting him back is great for the Vikings. If all goes well, and Harry doesn't decline much, Cine replaces Bynum and we have two safeties ideal for what Flores likes to do.
if we are playing press man i would think bynum would be pretty decent as a slot corner. Or a centerfielder in cover 1.
