At 34, it was wise on his part to take the hit. And getting him back is great for the Vikings. If all goes well, and Harry doesn't decline much, Cine replaces Bynum and we have two safeties ideal for what Flores likes to do.

This is probably the one guy I would have hated seeing in a different uniform. I know these are business decisions, and I’m glad he wanted to stay in Minnesota.

I don't know why more players don't do this. When you're in your last year or two, it seems like it would just make more sense to have a little self-awareness, take a pay cut and stay where your family is, where your friends are, and retire from the team who drafted you and avoid that awkward one-year dislocation at the end of your career. I've never understood the burning desire to uproot everything and learn a new scheme just to make a dollar more.
