Not a fan of hers, and dont care who plays as its pretty simple to change the channel if I dont like the artist.  But this is best selling bands not artists so Rihanna wouldn't be on it. Notice how Elvis, Garth and Michael Jackson arent on the list? Gonna go out on a limb and say at least one of them is top 10. Beyond that, kind an apples to oranges comparison considering how streaming has changed how we consume music.  Back in the day if you liked 1 song off an album and it wasn't a single you had to buy the entire album for just that song. Now you pay a couple bucks a month and can listen to every major artists entire catalog.

I always thought it would be cool if the NFL invited regional acts to perform at halftime.

SB in New Orleans? bring in a local zydeco band.
SB in Houston? bring in a local C/W band

True, 95% of the fans wouldn't know who the bands are, but think of the exposure these bands get by performing at halftime.

Now it's about streams and views.  Those are the metrics/data points involved.

Rhianna is a good choice as she's a good performer, singer, worldwide appeal, and a gorgeous human being
