You don't often get to see apples to apples comparisons like this, but I think this is definitely one. Zimmer's "not-lose" philosophy had been so ingrained in me, I found myself rooting for the tying field goal. But this bold confidence, in Cousins in particular to throw the dagger, could bode well down the road.

I dont know about that, this seems to be a bend dont break ( although it has done so often) approach to defense that forces teams to make plays underneath and not give up the big plays (emphasis on TRIES) and that seemed to be Zims approach as well.
Cousins seemed to have a swagger on that winning drive, kind of like he knew they were driving for a touchdown instead of a tying field goal. On the touchdown throw to Osborn, thanks to the Lions defense leaving Mike Hughes in coverage on KJ.

Zimmer wasn't a soft shell type of guy. I think he played more zone the last 2 years as the DBs flat out sucked once Rhodes, Waynes and Mac took bigger paydays elsewhere.
But yes, our D seems to be, don't let them know how bad our DBs are.

I still think the Viking D is something to be concerned over, but at least they've shown up situationally and kept points off the board in the 4th.
