is that how he felt when a angry racist ran down parade goers with his vehicle last Christmas?  were there clever tweets about that tragedy thinking that they may some way bring about some sort of change that will do nothing to address the real issue at hand?  if he had tweeted some smarmy bull shit response at that time, would you have posted that as well?

you may think that this shit is somehow going to change minds or win points,  but it really does nothing but show the true ignorance on the matter.

quick question.. how has prohibition ever worked in this country?  booze... utter failure unless you were a kennedy or other that simply igoned the laws and found ways to profit from it.  drugs.... that one is the time honored poster child for failure.   what else we got,  sex with children... well those in power dont seem to give a shit there either.   countless gun laws in place already that do little to nothing to stop this shit,  maybe focus on the why, and not the how, and you might get closer to finding a solution,  the how can easily be swapped out,  as it has many times in the past.
Who's talking about prohibition? Most gun control advocates simply want better regulation. Y'know, kinda like alcohol.

We have a shit load of laws that either don't get enforced or don't work.  I am sorry if gun owners are skeptical that if we were to go along with your proposed new laws that it would stop there.  We know it won't stop the violence,   and we are pretty confident that those behind more regulations now will just keep demanding the same.  The track record of thw govt applying common sense to solve a problem doesn't have a good standing,   they will quickly blow by common sense and start implementing stupidity.

The same people wanting "common sense" gun laws were proclaiming moms at school board meetings were domestic terrorist.  So excuse me for being a tad skeptical.

So what is the track record for government regulation out of control? Can you think of a few that might involve airlines, drugs, anti-trust, insurance, car safety, tax policy, fireworks, clean air, water, roads, etc that have gone off the deep end, haven't improved anything and made your life miserable? I can think of one in particular, but that's another thread.

And how come you keep using this "it won't stop the violence" straw man? Over and over you say it, when you know damn well the goal isn't to stop the violence any more than car and road safety regulations aren't intended to stop traffic deaths.

if the "better regulations" wont stop the violence, then what is your goal?  I am not following what ever it is you are attempting to say here.

You're kidding, right? Obviously, reducing the violence is the goal.

well I am going to tell you.... its not going to do much,  just as making drugs illegal has done to stop drug use... if there is a demand there will be somebody to fill that demand.  maybe we should try and focus on curbing the demand?

I'm sure I don't need to show you yet another graphic that shows how the US leads the world in gun violence...and not by a factor of three or four but by three or four dozen, with the obvious difference being our nearly unfettered access to not just guns, but weapons of war.

But it's more than that IMO. I actually think you're onto something by focusing on curbing demand. Why do we romanticize, almost sexualize, guns the way we do in this country? If your dick gets hard when you hold an AR-15, you might be part of the problem.

if your dick gets hard everytime you hear somebody shot up a crowd with an AR15 you might be part of the problem.  I think the vast VAST majority of gun owners would be open to common sense legislation if it werent for the left leaning masses that rise up every shooting screaming to take away their guns,   and like I said,  the next time the left doesnt go way past common sense when trying to run a situation... it will be the first.  the constant over reaction and in many cases just plain fabrications of facts has led many in the middle and right to completely disregard anything the left wants to accomplish simply because they have proven to many times that they cant be trusted, on guns or about anything else that needs our govts attention.

I agree, let's get guns in the hands of everyone.  Since there are so many out there at this point, we should all be armed.  Whites, blacks, other minorities, rural, inner city.  I mean there are enough guns in America today for each of us to have one.  We are ultimately going to get there, why not just speed up the process and get this NRA hard on (if they can still get one) up and over with.

I mean this did happen in the 60s/70s and somehow conservatives started pushing for more gun control with the Milford Act. . . don't know why that would be.

Uh huh.  Sure.  Just like Canada.  Just like Chicago...

Enforce the current laws.  Stop labeling moms and dads at school board meeting as domestic terrorists.
