I am limiting my involvement on this one for my own well being...ITs too sad and maddening.

Tired of thoughts and prayers, moments of silence. And that anyone questioning 2nd amendment in this day and age is a marxist/leninist, that gets us nowhere in a hurry.

That aside, I sure hope we do something re: automatic weapons and # of rounds in this country. As well as better back ground checks and doubling down on helping those dealing with mental illness.

Agree - something went very wrong with that situation in Tx. I think it may have something to do with so many different agencies down there and one of them caused the pause.

I'm not convinced it was cowardice as much as paralysis caused by situational complexity. That is lack of planning.
Not buying that for a second,  in a situation like that,  involving kids especially,  you either act or you are a coward,   there is no training in the world that says to let a single gunman continue to kill children.  That wasn't a hostage situation it was an active shooter situation and anybody but a coward would have done whatever they could to end that immediately,   especially if you yourself were armed, and trained and employed specifically for that situation.  And then for them to prevent others from taking action.   The border patrol agents took action on their own accord because the law enforcement wasn't.

This whole situation goes beyond 2nd ammendment debates,   imo there needs to be a much bigger investigation into the hows and whys of this whole ordeal and heads need to roll.

There was a massive fuck up in this situation, like epic proportion level clusterfuck. It was completely and utterly unacceptable to wait. To hear that parents were begging the police to do something is awful. If they would have gone in sooner, lives could have been saved. The fact that the border patrol went over the police to go in is unreal. The fact that Olivarez said that officers could have been shot is not a reason not to go in. Firefighters don't say we could get burned and not go in the house. They were also trained. This is just one hot, stinking mess.

Not a typical conspiracy theorist but theres going to be a lot of questions that need to be answered and there is most certainly going to be people running with   some questions.

It was inevitable that the DOJ was going to get involved and now they are.

I got a question for those more learned on guns than me; Should we consider a ban AR15's?

There is nothing special about that gun,  it is really no different that many popular sporting rifles,  except it is military looking.  Still one round fired per trigger pull,  just like any pistol out there or semi automatic feed rifle.   There are larger mags that should be considered before the gun,  just like there were after market accessories designed to accelerate the cycle rate to imitate a fully auto gun,  but those were banned,  with really not much objection from most 2nd ammendment advocates.

The focus needs to be on the how we get to this point,   not the tool chosen.  Honesty what pisses me off the most is all the fucking algorithms and data mining that is done on all of us every second of every day,  nobody will convince me that some fucker in a govt site,  or a silicon valley office  knows that this shit is going down before it happens and they choose to do nothing to protect their system.

I'm personally not ready to move on from the tool choosen, but fully acknowledge it is one aspect of these situations. Maybe it is the need to better control automatic weapons???

I'm not sure about conspiracies, hard for me to believe someone choose to turn their back on the potential for so many kids and teachers dying

The bigger question for me is being discussed already; why it took 50, 60, 80 minutes for Border Patrol to come in and do what needed to be done while local police were outside the door hearing kids being slaugthered - all that time.

Ive never gotten a picture to paste off my phone. But there is no difference between a ar15 and this one:
https://dkfirearms.com/product/ruger-mini-14-ranch-hardwood-stock-5-round-mags/

Theyre the exact same gun.  If you ban semiautomatic, your banning +75% of all guns in America.

There arent automatic weapons in the hands of normal Americans. You need an expensive license and its my understanding the sheriff themselves personally signs off.

Automatic weapons went out with bootlegging.  They haven’t been used in a mass shooting since long before all of us were born.

I dont own an ar15 but every weapon I do use on the farm (and I use them iften) save a pump action 12 guage would fall under a semiautomatic ban.

Well if you can't differentiate based on form, fit and function then the answer is pretty obvious.  You may want to come up with better arguments or you may loose it all, and future generations will think really you screwed up.

I tend to agree.

But...What your saying, is...."it's anti-thetical/unimangiable for LEO to have NOT INTERVENED!"
(remember, YOU preferred social justice warriors intervening, post Georg Floyd)
So, tell me, post-Floyd, what would have your SJW's done differently, better?

LEO's HAVE BEEN BEAT OVER THE HEAD, FOR YEARS, FOR ANY ENGAGEMENT.....PRO/CON...
I'm saddened, but not shocked...that  LEO waited, to intervene.

We have a Latino perp (celebrate,  diversity!)  murdering a Latino population (celebrate, diversity!) .
