Last 3 years have been off-the charts good...With a bad ol aNd the Vikings D hasn't been good since 17.
Except his first two years here when the D was 9th (18) and 5th overall (19).
Cousins stats do not tell the whole picture here.
Rip the band aid off, make a deal at his highest value and move on to a guy who hasn't shell'd in our biggest games
Agreed, he's far from perfect, he's not in Brady's, Mahomes or Rogers class....
Stafford is the perfect analogy as pointed out elsewhere.
I'm too lazy to look it up, but he's left the team in position to win countless times.
My own bottom line is this, and everyone has their own:
With a more cap friendly deal,? He's probably the best at the position we can put back there for the foreseeable future.
He's been incredibly durable and productive in spite of:
Mediocrity on the OL
40 different OC's
A HC who really wasn't pushing many envelopes offensive philosophy wise
I have a suspicion KC wasn't meant to feel as welcome as Teddy was by said HC
Its just not intuitive for me to put most of the Vikings mediocrity at his feet.
I get not everyone is going to buy into this...
