How Slim are the Pickens going to be?

Pettine would be awful. Regardless of how most feel about Harbaugh, I would have felt a lot better about his ability to assemble a top notch coaching staff.

I hope we keep Dre. He is by all accounts a great coach. On the defensive side, he knows our players and has developed almost all of them. Wasn’t he the co-DC last year? Why shouldn’t he be DC?

He's certainly qualified, but I think it comes down to whether or not he wants it and, bigger still, whether or not the braintrust wants to continue with a Zimmer defense. 

As much as I like Dre, the timing seems right to install a new defense.

maybe he dips into the college ranks for some coaches. Does he have ties to any top football colleges?
