Kirk out vs. Pack beacause of Covid.

We can't get Mond ready, but the Texans have been starting Davis Mills, the guy picked right after him in Round 3 and we all laughed how it was a desperate reach and we got Mond when that was supposed to be their guy.

Spielman got clowned again in the draft and left another critical position with no depth, Zim still doesn't know offense, and we still have no coaches who can develop QBs.

Fire the entire staff Monday as soon as we are officially out of playoffs and start the search immediately.

Confused why Mannion starting over Mond is controversial, or even surprising. Mannion is the backup and has been all year.  Only reason to start Mond is to see what you've got. You sure as hell wouldn't do that with the playoffs on the line. I know most of us have given up on the season, but the Vikings obviously can't.

The Vikings will probably start with Mannion and maybe use Mond as an occasional running option or goal line QB. If Mannion keeps us in the game, great. But if he sucks, you can always put in Mond. Doing it the other way around would be a huge mistake IMO.
Surprising? No. Zimmer is washed.

Frustrating? Yes, because I hope(d) Mond would be better than Mannion, especially in a run-first environment like tomorrow night. So either Mond is galactically bad which is possible, or the coaches/FO— who could force a coach to play Mond, happens all the time— are galactically obtuse. Either way it’s frustrating. Sad season.
Also if anyone here is “happy” Kirk tested positive and all but ended the Vikings season… congrats on the being the other side of the same coin as the “Boycott The NFL Because Somebody Took A Knee” nuts.

Cousins did not test positive in the preseason, he was deemed a close contact as an unvaccinated player, actually.
You are correct.  Just went back to check that.  It was Mond who tested postive.

Just on ESPN....Mannion starting
...as he should.
I disagree. The only offense we might generate Sunday night might come on the legs of Mond. Plus he's sat almost a full season and I'd like to see what we have in him one way or the other. We've seen Mannion and already know he can't play

Still it is the arbitrary rules that make the difference.  Now 5 days quarantine are enough because 10 is too hard.  Science written all over that.  Go back and figure out which rules/proclamations have changed multiple times since all of this and why.  Arbitrary rules are just that, dictates from non-scientists.

I’d say that the rules have evolved over time, not arbitrarily. Good Lord I hope I didn’t just start an off the rails, nonstop “Evolution” discussion… Wink B)

It wouldn't matter one bit who started. The Vikings weren't going to the play offs.
No reason to burden the board with revisiting the endless , boring, Covid debate, that changes no minds on the issue.
This is a very fitting end to a long frustrating season. I feel sorry for everyone involved.

Arbitrary or not, we all knew the rules and the risks as did Cousins and Cook and the other unvaccinated idiots.

They made selfish choices without giving 2 shits about their teammates, the team or the possible impact.

But the starting QB of all people is not easily replaced and supposed to be the leader.  And in fitting Cousins fashion, he shit the bed when we needed him most.

We all knew this was EXACTLY what would happen:  unvaccinated dumbasses would play a role at a critical time in the fate of our season.

With the new Covid rules, had Cousins been vaccinated he might have had a chance to to produce two negative tests before Sunday and been able to play.  But being the wise team leader he is, he opted for the plastic bubble defense.

FUCKING MORON

And that ladies and gentlemen, is how your 2021 Vikings season will end, as predictable as January snow.
What an ignorant take.   You’ve been praying all year that this would happen to Kirk, so you could make your little rant.  Well, it doesn’t change the following:

1.  The vaccine is borderline useless at this point in preventing infection.
2.  Numerous “vaccinated” Vikings have hit the list.
3.  The all death rate for those vaccinated are exceeding the unvaccinated in areas with the highest vaccination rates.
4.  The Omicron variant rather than the vaccine is the most promising alternative to ending the pandemic at this point in time.
5.  Fauci has not been right on one thing about the virus to this point, which is a remarkable accomplishment two years in.

You are certifiably the worst poster and crybaby on this entire site.  Lol
