Wilson v. Cousins

Cousins is a good QB who gets irrationally slammed, despite excellent play and putting points on the board (all that actually matters). He continually drives the team down in scoring position when needed and is good with game winning drives. He’s excellent from clean pockets and bad pockets. We don’t lose games because of Kirk frigging Cousins.
The reason we lose games is because our defense really really sucks and has for some time. It’s that simple. Our defense is why the Vikings won’t make the playoffs, unless we see a dramatic turnaround. That’s the main reason why our ”defensive guru” coach should probably be shown the door.
Did you just start watching the Vikings last year?
He's speaking in present tense, and our defense is scraping the bottom of the league in both yards and points given.

Zimmer's D is broken, and/or the other coaches have him figured out.  I'm hoping that the D gels, overall, ASAFP and shows improvement...but this season, the already whacko Cousins hate club looks to be truly delusional.

A comparison between Kirk Cousins and a then 40-41yrs old Brett Favre.

Minnesota Vikings: Kirk Cousins vs Brett Favre

Cousins: 47 starts - 3 Fourth Quarter Comebacks, 4
Game-Winning Drives
Favre: 29 starts - 3 Fourth Quarter Comebacks, 4
Game-Winning Drives

Did Favre have both an o-line and a defense rated in the bottom quarter of the league?

We're two games into this season, and Cousins had us in position to win both times...but, the ball was put in others' hands.

Just some factual, relevant considerations.

Seems that having to have a lot of 4th quarter comebacks maybe a sign of not getting it done the first 3 quarters

Well, our QB already has 595 yards, 5 TDs, and no picks...while our D looks determined to give away almost 30 ppg again, so....

I have seen the Cousins royally sucks posts or everyone else does. It's not that simple. It's a team sport. Cousins is a 12 or 13 qb. We know his record against winning teams. We know the ongoing OL issues. The secondary is awful especially Breeland. Peterson is slow. The offensive coordinator is learning on the job. Zimmer is in charge though so he doesn't get a pass. This is it though. He has had plenty of time and some bad luck but this has to be it.

You make it sound like he's never had huge question marks surrounding his performances.  So 2 games this year....what about the first month or so last year when he repeatedly shit the bed pretty much sealing the teams fate?  He is a good not great QB that plays well at times and we've seen him play like dog shit others.  Just because he matches or exceeds some great QBs in some stats doesn't mean he should be talked about in the same conversations regarding abilities.   Hes having a nice start to this season, he has left room for improvement but has been getting the job done for the most part.  Would be nice to see him convert more 3rd downs though.

I never call him perfect, best, or anything like that...but I've also never seen marquee QBs stack up wins with such severe liabilities on their teams.  In fact, I've never seen a playoff QB that had consistent interior line failure...

...never, in all my decades watching this game.

So, I want to know...how many wins do we get if the biggest weaknesses get fixed?
