I can't believe Zim can trust ANY Viking kicker. Our new guy made a couple long ones that we really needed, but he missed an important PAT and the game winner. Are we supposed to believe he's good enough? If he's a Viking kicker, I guess so. :#
I can't believe Zimmer keeps putting kickers in a bad position and then is surprised by it. They could have run a couple more plays if Zimmer hadn't pissed the clock away.

I don't agree he put the kicker in a bad position. He lined up a 37 yarder. If a NFL kicker can reliably make FGs under 40 yards, they shouldn't be on rosters. I agree they had time to try a couple sideline passes to try to get closer, but AZ may have blitzed Cousins and bad things could've happened.
Joseph is just another Viking kicker that will break our hearts like all the others.

With all the kicking issues this team has had, I feel better safe than sorry. Add the extra plays, it hurts nothing. He should have made that though. But hey Daniel Carlson is doing well elsewhere.
The olde saying certainly applies to the Vikings franchise;
If they didnt have bad luck....

Bullshit. Kickers hit way more often than not, and our guy drilled two 52-yarders earlier in the game. You play the percentages. Forgot about that "Fumble" last week already? It was a friggin' 37-yarder!
Titans won in OT with a 36-yard Field Goal with their 14th kicker since 2017 lol (at least that's what the announcers said) - you just can't make that stuff up.
Now, you can say "but it's the Vikings! You know he will miss it!" - but that's just not rational. You can't just give in and accept a "curse".
Nah, Zimmers whole mentality is olay to just squeak by, he never lets the O just do its thing and that is the problem here. How many times do we get burned on D by over playing the run and they throw it over top the stacked line, taking advantage of cover 1 or zero?
Zimmer has made no secret of how he feels about kickers but his mentality is to constantly put his teams fate in their hands. Its Zimmer who is failing this team, not just the kicker who misses the kick.
Until zim learns to play for the dominant win, I have a hard time putting it on one player. How about Cousins once again thrown well short of the first down markers on 3rd down? 1 for 9 on 3rd downs until the final drive.
Yes the kicker missed the kick to win it, but I didn't feel that the were trying to win for about 3/4s of that game.
You didn't feel like we were playing to win for 3/4 of the game? Why because we were running the ball? Dalvin had like 7 or 8 runs that went for 10+ yards and he was a shoe string tackle from breaking loose for a long TD on a few of them. The second play of the game was a deep shot to Osborn for a 64 yd TD.
The offense was rolling in the first half (and so was Arizona). I thought we stayed pretty aggressive in the second half but missed on a couple deep shots to Jefferson (one he dropped). The defense actually played much better in the 2nd half with two turnovers and forcing a couple punts.
Despite the loss, there were a lot of encouraging things to take away in this game. Our pass protection looked much better, Kirk played well, Dalvin was doing Dalvin things, and our defense had some turnovers and did a good job of keeping Murray from shredding us with his legs. I thought Kubiak did a much better job of playcalling this game, I'd have a similar game plan for Seattle.
Agree WET...
I am actually much more encouraged after yesterday than I was vs Bungles...
Vikings will get their 1st win vs Russell Wilson this Sunday. I'm betting $ on it

You know me... I'm not a Kirk believer anymore, but he played well yesterday. He looked much more decisive and was attacking the Cardinals defense (surprisingly with his legs a little too) instead of taking the "easy" throw. With Jefferson, Thielen, and now Osborn as viable big play threats, I would really like to see Kirk continue to take these calculated shots. Of course, it's a lot easier to do that when your running game was working as well as it was yesterday. Hopefully this is the performance the Vikings OL needed to get them playing good as a unit the rest of the year. They did their job, complete 180 from Week 1.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that big run by Cousins but it was a nice surprise. I think if this is Zimmer's last year just let the offense go crazy and have at it. The evolution of Klint will be interesting to watch.

We were traveling for the first half so I couldn't watch that, listened to the play by play and it seemed that they got tight with the O after the third TD. I was able to watch the 2nd half at a hotel and they seemed to be trying to force DC, and he really needed a break. He has been shown to wear down easily and pounding him, even when successful, is not a recipe for a season of seeing Dalvin Cook. 3/4 might be a bit strong, but for to much of the game it was apparent that we were going to run the ball, and despite the D being overly ready at times we still tried. They need to throw more with Cook on the field and run more with Mattison in the game if they are helll bent on running.
My real frustrations from yesterday were 3rd down conversions and the defense breaking down so badly at times. The turnovers were fun, but when you follow that up with shit.... you lose anyway.
