Then you have people that have no brains spouting off the most crazy things said by the other side, and acting like that's their stance.  Everything I have said has been true and backed up upon request., and more factually than the crowd that's simply parroting each other and slapping themselves on the ass over how funny they are.  lol   I have shown a moderate position and even admitted that were I in a more at risk category, I would consider the vaccine.  Nothing crazy and it's not crazy for professional athletes to feel that way either.  Yet we have the tough guy patrol calling others dumb fucks and trying to act more intelligent than others.   I'd love a few of them to call the players they're labeling as dumb fucks that to their face.  Of course, message board anonymity is one great safety net.  lol

  • First, the source isn't Twitter. Laugh all you want. I don't mind. But think about it for a minute first. 
  • The source is an epidemiologist. (Specifically Medicine / Infectious Disease / Epidemiology / NYU prof / @BellevueHosp doc / Journalism / Speaking / Host @AmericanDxFm & @EpidemicPodcast)
  • The videos were from a town hall held by the Republican governor of Arkansas. He is looking to reverse the ban on masks mandates that he signed into law. He's since changed his mind due to the results and what they are seeing in the hospitals.
  • It does not matter that the videos were aired on MSNBC. I actually didn't use MSNBC or CNN or anything else for "info". There were no questions or answers in the videos by any member of the media. Perhaps you didn't watch. Fine. But the Doctor was responding to the questions that were posed by those who were there. in the room, in protest. If you were standing in the room yourself you would have heard the same. Questions such as "What's in the vaccine?" and comments such as "If Doctors were allowed to tell the truth" were brought up. She responded with facts as well as her perspective which is based on education and years of hard earned experience. I guess she and so many other infectious disease specialists are having a hard time finding the studies.
  • I don't believe I've read anyone here say that people shouldn't take preventative steps for our own health. Most do it. I take Vitamin D every day. I have some melanin which means it's not absorbed as easily naturally. So, I bolster that with Vit D pills. I'm also vaccinated. There are far too many people who are no longer with us who regretted the choice. When it comes to an effective option for our society as a whole, I absolutely support the vaccine.
You might notice that I generally don't sink into the "people have no brains" comments when referring to posters here. So, on that note, I'll leave you be.
I disagree with a few of your conclusions, but overall I can respect your viewpoint.  I do think there are major issues with what many posters view as “science”.  When the media is blatantly and incessantly only airing stupid commentary from one side, when they’re only citing experts that agree with their narrative, there’s a problem. I respect that you took the time to answer coherently and without self-righteousness.  If that happened across the spectrum, we’d be in a much better place..  There have been major issues with people taking the vaccines.  That is not being faithfully reported, and that’s nearly undeniable.  But, since it takes more than a simple google to get to the studies and experts showing that, and since they get banned when they do, it kinda leads to distrust and then some.
Well, it would certainly help if everyone (yes, EVERYONE) would respond as respectfully and civilly as Nichelle on hot button topics. 

I think our new mantra should be "What Would Nichelle Do" if we're getting agitated or pissed off about something.

Whoa whoa whoa.  Ivermectin has NEVER been the focus of a study.  There is ONE study that used results from many studies looking at other factors.  It is my understanding that ivermectin was not used exclusively in those tests subjects.  So a few internet articles about the same study doesn't make it studies. 

Until there is a peer reviewed study that studies ivermectin as an actual treatment for covid on its own it about as good as internet hearsay.  
As someone who's administered ivermectin to cattle please be careful with what you read on the internet.

Hydroxychloroquine has been studied.  The internet rumors of it working were based off a metadata study in 2020.  Subsequent studies found that it is not an effective treatment for covid-2

Ivermectin has the exact same rumormill as HQC.  There is ONE metadata study that says it shows positive results.  Until there is an actual study conducted on ivermectin as a Covid-2 treatment it should not be looked at as some sort of savior to the worlds problems.
Both drugs can be harmful to humans.  The CDC had to issue a treatment warning on HQC because they were actually seeing quite a few adverse reactions.   

Vitamin D:  Is fine.  The CDC says more testing in needed.  The rumor that it works likely comes from a racial background.  In the early days, Covid it was going through the African American communities harder then other races.  AA's have a propensity to be Vitamin D deficient hence the rumor.  My BIL who is an epidemiologist said go for it. Its not going to hurt you to take it.  You'll just pass what isn't absorbed out.   We actually do take a multi-vitamin in our household and my wife does do D supplements.

Agreed.  There are a few here that have different opinions but can actually have a reasonable conversation.  Nichelle is one of them and much respect towards her for that.  I actually read her responses because they have individual thought behind them, not some regurgitated talking points.

So, don't take animal ivermectin cuz you don't know the dosing and there may be other things in it.  Good advice.  

As far as being dangerous?  Ivermectin has proven very safe over many years and off-label use is a common practice for doctors.  Banning doctors from using safe treatment for potentially life-threatening diseases is much more dangerous that using Ivermectin.  I already shared a site that shows all the studies that prove it works.  But here it is again.  https://ivmmeta.com/

Again, if covid is this dangerous, then we should use what we can to save lives.
