So Adam didn't think having a pregnant wife and going to the hospital to have his baby delivered warranted getting vaccinated?  Pretty disappointing IMO.
So AT must be a Trumper?  He maybe just gulped down a glass or two of Clorox to wash down a hand full of hydroxychloroquine tablets before heading up to the hospital.  Yay Science!

AT is one of my favorite players.  I don't agree with his position on a covid vaccination and believe mocking an individual not a mature move.  People choosing not to be a vaccinated are a diverse group, do you really know AT thinking on the matter?
I like him as a player too, and he's from Detroit Lakes.  I don't know him personally, but the family lake cabin I grew up in and now own is just minutes from DL.  The DL area was littered with Trump signs this past fall, and even had a Trump store downtown on the main retail street.  I still see Trump flags flying high on people's docks even this summer.  I guess I just put two and two together and made the wild guess that the Thielen family are Trumpers.  Something tells me I'm right about that.
Maybe...  Or maybe not...  Mocking is not really appropriate either way but commonly accepted on the internet where it is easy to be tough guy!

I'm not being a tough guy in anyway.  I do think not
getting vaccinated for his newborn child, his wife, and other kids is
incredibly selfish.  Is he going to disallow his children from all
vaccines or just the COVID shots?  I wonder if he has pets, and does he
get rabies shots for them?  I just think Thielen isn't a very smart fellow
when it comes to ending pandemics.  And yes, I do think most people that
won't get the vaccine are Trumpers; not all, but most.
I agree that he should have been vaccinated but felt your comments were over the top, JMO.  Just curious do you make similar remarks about Blacks?  They typically vote Democrat yet are the ethnic group least likely to get vaccinated?  For the data, see: https://bmcpublichealth.biomedcentral.co...862-1#Tab1  Look at the odds ratio, 0.46 relative to white, non-Hispanic which means, in this study, blacks were far less likely to get vaccinated than whites.

Not sure why it is any of your business.  But you do realize that there is some information that shows vaccine does pose increased risk to pregnant women.  I think the CDC and media talking points have scrubbed most of that from their sites, but initially it was recommended that the newly vaccinated stay away from pregnant women.

So you think he is selfish because he may have thought about the issue and chose a different path than you?  And you label him stupid because of it?  Sounds about right for the internet.

Historically minorities have a much less vaccination (not specific to covid, pneumococcal, tetanus, influenza etc) rate based on many factors like economics, access to healthcare, and mistrust ( who would have thunk).  Level of education also is a factor in vaccination rates (not specific to Covid).  The more educated (college degree) the more likely a person is to be vaccinated and have their loved ones vaccinated.

To me it has been really sad to see "vaccinations" move from a public health issue to a political issue.  Moving forward, at least in the US, every new strain of any vaccine (Flu/Covid) will be looked at through a political lens and not through the lens of public health and public good.

These Pandemic type virus's and bacteria are only going to happen more often as the worldwide population grows and food sources become strained - animal to human derived like always.  I just hope the vast majority of people "trust" science/medical community consensus over politics for their healthcare.

Historically, study after study show that vaccinations are effective for the overall public good.  But you only hear about your neighbors friends step-aunt who had an allergic reaction and her baby was born with autism.  But lets ignore the millions/billion of people who have been saved over the century with antibiotics and vaccines and make it a political issue.  I fear a country so divided that everything is viewed politically because that by itself is anti freedom/American - IMHO Smile

No, I don't make similar remarks about Black people.  AT is a white guy from a high population of Trump voters.
Your article states the non-vaxers are those with low confidence in scientists (see below).ResultsThe
results indicated that 68 and 65% agreed to get the vaccine for
themselves and people under their care, respectively. Risk perceptions
(severity of and susceptibility to COVID-19) were significantly
associated with vaccine uptake. People who relied on “conservative” news
outlets, Republicans, and who had low confidence in scientists are
least likely to vaccinate self or children. Non-Hispanic Blacks and
those with least schooling were also less likely to receive vaccine for
themselves or people in their care.
ConclusionsOur
study identified race/ethnicity, risk perceptions, exposure to
different media for COVID-19 news, party identification and confidence
in scientists as factors that would be affecting COVID-19 vaccine
uptake. The good news is that these are addressable through strategic
public health communications, but a lot of work remains to be done with
some urgency.

I bet he grew up getting vaccinated Chicken Pox, Measels, Polio, tetnis, hepititus, Mumps and several others.  Now we have a new pandemic and he won't do it and has kids with a newborn.  Yeah, it would be interesting to hear why he won't do it.  Something tells me it's not "all" vaccines he's against, just this one.  Something also tells me he didn't vote Biden, but for the guy who hated the advice from Dr. Fouci.

So what.  If he hasn't chosen to reveal his medical decisions or the thoughts behind them, why should anyone care?  It is HIS decision.

And having kids isn't any gotcha reason to get this vaccine.  In case you haven't seen the science, kids are largely unaffected by this.  And again, who gives a shit who he voted for.  Probably didn't vote for all we know.  It has no bearing on how he plays football, unless you are from the tolerant left and can't tolerate anyone that has a different opinion.

From the condescension and likelihood of being reported to the manager, I am confident they didn't name their girl Karen.

I like AT as a football player, like I mentioned earlier in this thread.  I just can't imagine not getting a vaccine that can save lives.  The new strains coming are even more dangerous so getting the shots is more important than ever.  I guess some people just don't care enough and think this pandemic was just the media's way to ruin Trump.  I believe this pandemic is very real, and it's world wide; much, much bigger than American politics.

I was welcoming a baby to the world regardless of the lack of vaccinated parents. The divide is strong. It is what it is.
