10. Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USCHT: 6-4 | WT: 315 | Highlights
One of the biggest risers of this past year, Vera-Tucker flashed elite tools when he moved outside to left tackle for the Trojans last season. I see him as a top-tier guard, however, the best in this class.
Stat to know: Vera-Tucker was responsible for just two sacks and two holding penalties on 849 total pass blocks over the past two seasons.

17. Jaelan Phillips, DE, MiamiHT: 6-5 | WT: 260 | Highlights
Phillips is the best pure pass-rusher in this draft. He wreaked havoc down the stretch for Miami last season. The only reason he's not a definite top-15 pick is his injury history.
Stat to know: Phillips was the No. 3-ranked recruit in the 2017 ESPN 300 rankings.

18. Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia TechHT: 6-5 | WT: 314 | Highlights
The more I watched Darrisaw's 2020 tape, the more I liked him. He's a road grader in the running game who just erases edge defenders. He has a mean streak and finishes plays. He has the frame to stick at left tackle in the NFL.
Stat to know: On 264 pass blocks last season, Darrisaw allowed just three pressures and one sack.

I’m again impressed with George Paton. He got a QB for the price (3 mill) of a lot of backups in the NFL. He still remains in play for a QB at 9 to draft and sit. And if he doesn’t, he has Lock and Bridgewater compete. Whoever wins, Denver is in a better spot than 2020.Impressive

Hear me out...

Carolina moves from 8 to 15 with NE and grabs Stephon Gilmore and a 2021 4th round pick. Pick Christian Darrisaw at 15 and the Panthers fix both OT and CB with pick 8. I would.

Gilmore is a native of Rock Hill, SC which is just south of Charlotte.

Seems like the top two offensive tackles could go earlier than many projecting. Same with the top two cornerbacks.

Don't forget the top 5 QBs,  there are suddenly so many players going in the top 10 we might be in position to get Lawrence!

Ok maybe not,   but some of this hyperbole is getting ridiculous.   Look at fields,   he is suddenly getting so much hype this week I have to wonder if there is some sort of mandate by ESPN or who ever to try and sell him.  It's just crazy that a player of his caliber was dismissed so much and then suddenly its like he has hired a PR department and gets talked up to the 2md pick.

You're just teasing me with this aren't you? However, if he and Darrisaw are sitting there at 14, I would have a hard time passing on Darrisaw as our immediate LT starter, and then taking one of the second or third tier short armed tackles with one of our third round picks as a potential LG. So many tantalizing options to think about.

I won't be mad if they take Phillips or Paye in the first and trust that Rick has done his due diligence but it almost forces us to trade up in the 2nd for a LT unless the plan on moving O'Neill or Cleveland to fill one of the holes on the left side of the line.
