And more options....Blasphemy to call it a Mustang though:
Never been a Mustang fan. I think they've made some of the ugliest cars on the road the last 60 years. They're doing better now and those first models in the 60s were hot, but from roughly 1970 to 2010 ish, oh crap they were ugly.
How about this one from 1985...ish.

Same. I was a Camaro / Corvette girl. My goal was to have a Camaro in my 20's (check) and a Corvette in my 30's (nope). I moved to Minnesota and it didn't take long for me to get rid of the Camaro and buy something that could handle the snow. That was the end of my sporty dreams.

^ Ugh. There is always someone. I'm just relieved they only did harm to themselves. I read in a different article that they called Tesla to help with information on how to put the fire out because the batteries kept reigniting.
that is one thing to consider for those buying these electric cars, they are a new situation for those of us in the fire and rescue business. lots of new wrinkles with these things that do not go with conventional fire and extrication training. it will happen but for now firefighters view these things as something not to rush into when it comes to getting victims out. there needs to be some universal battery cut out design and location that is common to all EVs that would make them much safer to cut into... of course I said the same thing about air bags and they never came up with that either. kinda dangerous cutting up these more modern vehichles which is scary considering how much flimsier that they make them now with the crumple zones and stuff that make it more likely to require extrication than the old road boats.

So quick question...do all these electric vehicles makers have a universal charging system or are they being stupid and trying do their own thing like apple?
I am looking at doing an addition and new garage and I would think a charging station would be a wise part of the plan but if they are all gonna be different then maybe not?
Lol, then the bastards change the plug every couple models.
That brings up another question. If you buy a new EV does it come with a charger?

Most Americans don't have any sense of the # of BEV vehicles that are going to hit the market in the next 12-28 mos.
From all makers from Europe to Detroit to Korea.
The issue is going to be range, charge time, infrastructure protocols, availability of infrastructure outside of West Coast and wtf to do with all those batteries.
God bless Musk for the disruption he caused in the sleepy auto market. I luv me some SpaceX too. He's bat-s #it crazy and a genius all at once.
I seriously considered a Model Y, but it was like driving an iPad on wheels for me. My wife didnt like it at all and I really wanted to like this vehicle as Tesla is subsidizing their leases at crazy levels right now.
I'm glad its out there though and for the impact it will have on the industry as a whole. More choices will be good for the consumer as product quality will improve across the board and prices will eventually come down. Down to where it makes easy sense to choose BEV vs an ICE offering.
One has to ask how American infrastructure is going to respond to EV's. Right now a decent hunk of fuel tax is used for infrastructure/roads. How will Uncle Sam charge EV owners for the road maintenance needed?

In the BMW's I sell they come with a 110 standard. A 220 option is available for additional $$'s. This will dang near 1/2 the charging time but most be professionally installed.

Lots of new house construction have a garage hookup with 220-240 V for charging electric cars.
Its easy for an electrician to come into your garage and get a 220 outlet installed.

LOL, I would see a 220 outlet in a garage and think .... welder, or camper hookup. honestly if we werent having this conversation a car charging point would be about the last thing I would think of.

Yeah, if you're comfortable with electricity it shouldn't take much to wire one in. I know I have my breaker boxes in my garage and could have one wired in by lunch time if I needed to.
Guess that brings up another question/comment lol:
Can we please put all the plugs on the same side of the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do these cars have a battery life gauge like a gas gauge and if so is there a little " > " to indicate which side of the car the plug in is located, like gas vehicles have for the tank fill location?

I have one installed in mine but electric car was not even in my thought area. I was thinking more power tools
