Again our coach shows he is a dipshit.

If you're Zygi, you ask:

With the resources he's been given, has Mike:
  • Overachieved?
  • Met Expectations?
  • Underachieved ?
Looking at the playoff record? I know what my answer would be...

Zygi just extended him. I think we have our answer.

It might be time to move on from Zimmer although I am not sold on that decision. What I have been saying since the game yesterday is there is no way yesterday's loss was on Zimmer.

Given the factors--down, distance, score, Bailey's history at that distance, and the two missed kicks earlier in the game, I kick that field goal probably 10 times outta 10.

I have my problems with Zimmer but that wasn't one of them. In fact, my biggest problem with him (game prep) wasn't an issue in this game. We seemed to have come out well prepared.
This is exactly what I have said time without number. Thanks for explaining it very well. I don't have any problem with that decision.
the problem is historically doesnt mean much for the now.   How many times historically has Bailey been as bad as he had been that last 2 weeks?  He missed 3 kicks last week and had missed his first 2 this game,  its not like he was hitting uprights or had bad footing,  he is flat out sucking ass right now with his place kicks and there was nobody on the planet that has watched him kick the last 2 weeks that thought he was honestly going to make that 54 yard kick.  hell you could see it in his eyes after the first miss that he was lost mentally.

I agreed with the decision at the time too.

Not the season to blow things-up, even after another playoff ass whooping.

But I'm ready now. My gut tells me Zimmer isnt the guy to take the team to greatness tomorrow.

Zygi isnt afraid to pay multiple coaching staffs for a period either. The flip side to that is the cash flow after a covid year.

I could be wrong, but I think the last 3 head coaches in Zygis tenure were under contract when they were let go.  I dont think that extension would prevent Zimmers termination.  I dont expect it to happen,  but I dont think he is automatically protected by it.

I think missing 8 starters, 9 yesterday, from last year's D might cut Zim some slack.

After half dozen years, Zim has as many playoff wins as Reid at the same point in his tenure in KC.

its not the D, or lack of, that has people questioning his coaching style.

Well, to that I would only say that his other misses were yips--easy chip shots that were 100% in his head. Sometimes it takes a long field goal to get back on track. I don't know, I just know that's what I was thinking when they sent him out...that he was probably more likely to make this one than another chip shot. Might've been what Zim was thinking as well.
