We are on to nowhere land that is 8-8, normal Vikings territory in the past 20 years.
Again our coach shows he is a dipshit.

Even Tommy Kramer checked in and said, 'Just do your job. Make the kicks. Its no an organization or coaching issue. When does not doing your job in the kicking department in a game situation suddenly become a coaching problem??' (paraphrasing)

That is essentially what Zimmer did by trying that 54 yards. I dont know any coach that would suggest working through bad form/mental issues by attempting the hardest kicks to get your confidence back. Smart play there would have been to punt. Even a touch back would have been 24 yards of field position gained. A run for no yards would have been 7 yards gained. I agree with Olson here, in that moment the right option would have been take the field position over the long odds of Bailey making that kick.

Given the factors--down, distance, score, Bailey's history at that distance, and the two missed kicks earlier in the game, I kick that field goal probably 10 times outta 10.
I have my problems with Zimmer but that wasn't one of them. In fact, my biggest problem with him (game prep) wasn't an issue in this game. We seemed to have come out well prepared.

And when he turns into a head case blame him and get a new guy again. And again. But God forbid the guys who are in charge ever be held accountable, we can't have that.... extensions for all!

I expect better, especially from an ownership that brags ad nauseum via the p.r. department about it's championship intent and philosophy and alleged wonderfulness.
