Flynn...

Two more thoughts on earlier posts:

Being an undisclosed Turkish agent is the issue that could have led to and still can put his nuts in the garlic press.
Nope.  Dead, non-issue, for good reason.  The FBI weighed/addressed this during Flynn's trial before Judge Sullivan... and didn't pursue this.
Why?
  • Turkey is a NATO ally
  • Flynn was not a government agent when he (indeed) was a paid "lobbyist" (we can argue the merits of that in a different thread.  Hunter Biden?)
  • prosecutors did not include as a crime
  • Flynn is a 33 year combat veteran
  • the actual (more serious) 'crime' Flynn is currently under siege for, still recommends no jail time

Trump was campaigning on draining the swamp the whole time.  We've pretty much known the whole storyline the entire Trump presidency.  If Trump isn't re-elected they will have lost everything and gained nothing.  They're not really making much progress in making the public aware of the what they're investigating.  Between both parties, the entire Trump presidency has just been finger pointing, with no results.
Gen Flynn fell out of favor during his appt.  with the Obama admin.

Before taking his early/pre-liminary acceptance in the Trump admin., Flynn let it be known he (Flynn) wanted to stream-line the intelligence agencies in the Trump admin.
https://www.defenseone.com/politics/2013...ing/66716/
(Did you know there are 17 federal intelligence agencies?)

& guess where the deep-staters live?  In & around DC.
Highest income counties in US:
1Loudoun CountyVirginia$134,464
2Howard CountyMaryland$120,941
3Fairfax CountyVirginia$115,717
4Hunterdon CountyNew Jersey$113,684
5Santa Clara CountyCalifornia$111,069
6Arlington CountyVirginia$110,388
The top 3, and 4 out of top 6 are deep-state DC-area counties. This is where the deep-staters live.   Living large whilst suckling on the teat of your tax dollars.
These deep-state folks are 'not going gently into that good night'.

'Taking Flynn out' was a deep-state pre-emptive strike on Flynn's desire to stream-line (reduce) the intel community.
Bonus:  Eliminating  Flynn continued the Trump/Russia charade.

BTW, more declassification problems for the Obama FBI , every day.

How do you know that Flynn and Trump aren’t part of the same
deep state they are “fighting”?  How can
we differentiate between play-fighting in which there are no stakes, where
Flynn got a vacation and Trump gets to be the center of attention, which he loves,
and real fighting in which the actors have a strong vested interest in the
game?  I just don’t think you can tell
the difference until someone has real punishment and experiences real pain.

Yet another Mueller prosecutor disgraced in Flynn case.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mueller-prosecutor-removed-from-flynn-case-after-questions-surface-concerning-his-compliance-with-court-order

What Van Grack didn’t inform the court about – and didn’t provide to Flynn – was the newly unsealed January 4, 2017 "Closing Communication" from the FBI Washington Field Office, which recommended the FBI close its investigation of Flynn, as its exhaustive search through government databases “did not yield any information on which to predicate further investigative efforts."
Van Grack also failed to provide evidence to Flynn’s attorneys that anti-Trump former FBI agent Peter Strzok then immediately intervened and instructed the FBI case manager handling the Flynn investigation to keep the probe open, followed by indicators that the bureau would seek to investigate Flynn for possible violations of an obscure 18th century law known as the Logan Act -- which has never been utilized in a modern prosecution.
Another Strzok text mentions that the FBI’s "7th floor" – meaning FBI leadership – may have been involved in the decision to keep the Flynn case alive.

is there anybody that can honestly say they are truly "up to speed" on all this shit?  so many moving parts,  so many pieces go from good to bad and back to good (depending on what side you cheer for)

imagine if somebody tried to make a movie about this era in American politics... what a shit fest that would be to follow.

Justice!  Long time coming.

It kind of sounds like we’re back to where we started, with
nothing having been accomplished except that Flynn’s been pushed close to
bankruptcy due to legal fees.

I think that could fit under both potential timelines.  Is it real or theatre?  All he needs is a book deal or speaking gig,
to refill his coffers and we’ll be fully back to square one.

I hope this is real though and it leads somewhere good.

Trump was going to pardon him, which didn't play well for the election, so Barr helped him out.

liberals used to rail against the MAN for over reach, intimidation, trampling on due process and working in secret.  And real liberals still do that noble work.

Leftists cheer on a government that over reaches, tramples on due process, and works in secret,  as long as it is thier enemy.

There are a few still noble libs out there.
Dersh has been fantastic on this issue...so has lib Gatown law professor Jonathon Turley.

""This is an extraordinary decision but we are living in extraordinary times. It is very rare for such a dismissal to be sought based on its own misconduct.," George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley tweeted.

"Flynn was a major target for Mueller. Comey et al sought to create a crime in the absence of any evidence of criminal conduct. The case has now collapsed and represents one of the most ignoble moments for Mueller," Turley added."

Edit:  Also, we should point out there was at least one Obama holdover in the FBI...that showed he had a conscience, Bill Priestap.
& I'd like to thank him for making those thoughts & notes hand-written into the declassification evidence, lol.

Turley is an honest man who believes everyone has the same rights.
