I think Stanley is Josh Allen without the athleticism.
All kidding aside, I think it'll still be ol' Kirk behind center in 2021.

I enjoyed Favre playing here. I’m not sure I could handle Erin and his constant crying.

Nope, 2009 was enough, done that

Stanley and Josh Allen have a lot of similarities...inaccurate downfield, strong arm, and good runners. People forget Stanley ran a 4.7 at the combine and when he did scramble at Iowa, he was very effective. The frustrating part was that only occurred every 4 games. Nate had a lot of weapons this past year but constantly missed easy throws and it drove me nuts. He's better than Mannion, but that isn't much of a feat, and I hope he's never a started for us as I see him being a career backup.

Doesn't excuse the missed throws, which is why he lasted to #244. I'm glad we picked him because I have realistic expectations for him: a backup with a legit arm that understands a pro system.

I cant believe Rogers is only going to play in GB 2 more seasons...Way to good for that.

I was fine with Favre when the rumor mill was working overtime that spring/summer, and I was great with Favre as he led us on the most fun season I've had watching Minnesota since '98. Thank you Favre!
But Rodgers... idk. I legitimately can't stand that guy. If I had a crystal ball and knew he could help us win a Super Bowl then yes I'd do it. But literally anything short of that and I'd pass on him. With Favre I can look back fondly on the '09 season even though it hurts and I still hate the Saints. But if we had a similar season with Rodgers I think I'd try my best to erase it from my memory. I'm just not a fan. I want the Vikings to find an elite QB bad. But maybe not quite THAT bad.

I don't think this happens, despite the delicious irony of it. Favre wanted to play with Darrel Beville and maybe even Childress, but I don't see that kind of connection with the current Vikings staff. Sure, a lot can happen in a year, but I think Spielman and Zimmer are tied to Cousins' success. |
