Here's my prediction and I think you know I'm not a Pollyanna: come September, this fanbase is going to be excited again. Long way to go.
IF, if, if they Draft well, in a Draft that offers potential to fix the Lines early AND Corner and Wide Receiver in the 3rd then they will still be competitive. As good as last year's team? No way. Weaker at RDE. Weaker at RG. Way weaker at WR. Zero Safety depth with 2 Starters over 30. No 3T. Incredibly green at CB, and half those green guys tend to miss a lot of games for various reasons.

I'm as much into Roster Construction as I am actually watching the Games, so I will stay as tuned in as ever. But it's a Uuuuuge stretch to think this team won't take a step back as they get really, really young at multiple key positions.

After the Draft I'll be back to Super Bowl predictions, though lol

If nothing else, I'm excited to see Hughes playing in a neck halo, and Hill with a cloud of ganga fog...

No, I agree with you. The team will be lesser than last year's team. I've said as much recently. But its not going to be a shit show, either. I think the run game is going to be the star on offense, with just enough passing game to make it not easily predictable and will put up acceptable points. Special teams is solid. The D is the X factor of course and will be a work in progress. I think the Draft could turn out excellent.

Of course you're right - do you think most fans of a team are ever gloomy after a 10-win season and a playoff win?

WE are not "the fanbase". We're a fringe segment that reads and posts on a bulletin board all offseason, and probably represent <0.1% of Vikings fans. The majority would barely recognize Josh Kline's name and don't know he was released. That's who the Wilfs need to keep enthused. Sorry.

More of a haze than a cloud I think.

This off-season has been very underwhelming to say the least.  What position group has improved from last year?

It is not clear that Pierce is an upgrade over Joseph.  Just younger.

Other than that there has been nothing.

Bringing back the same scrubs on the offensive line is peculiar because Hill, Jones, and Dozier are never was and never will be types.
Granted they are only making the minimum but I would prefer to roll with Samia, Udoh, and maybe Collins (if he can stay healthy).
Plus a couple of rookies.
If Hill, Dozier, or Jones have to play extended snaps then it is going to be dicey.

I have no clue what they are doing and the draft is not going to produce several starters this season.
We will be lucky to come out with 2 or 3 starters down the line.

What happened to ...

There is still time though.

Im feeling we have to trade down one of our 1st rounders to fill all the holes, but the draft is not lining up to to get us a starting LG, 3T and CB, thats for sure

#Vikings just might keep Anthony Harris around. Sources say they've been active lately discussing possible long-term extension for him. One source believes now an increased chance of Harris being with them in 2020 either on franchise tag or long-term deal. https://twincities.com/2020/03/31/vik

TwinCities.com reports the Vikings are "actively discussing" a long-term contract with S Anthony Harris. The Vikings placed the franchise tag on Harris this offseason with the plan of trading him for a mid-to-late round pick. They may not have received as much interest as they had hoped, so signing Harris to a long-term deal would be the next best option. Harris, who should command double-digits millions annually on a new deal, reportedly wants to stay in Minnesota. He was considered the top safety on the market at the beginning of free agency.
