Stupid theory: trade with NE is already in place, but due to players being unable to take physicals at team facilities, it hasn't been announced yet.
Nope. I wouldn't even consider them the favorite.
Is that you Diggs?

I should probably go on record here and say keeping Harris no longer makes sense with a rebuild. Need the Draft Pick more than a guy who will be in decline when the next window opens.

Can you tell what they are looking for in a trade, such as players or picks and what positions if players?

@"Geoff Nichols" IIRC, doesn't you have a tie in with the franchise? Or am I just senile?

Of course, the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Something is up with Harris. If they want to keep him then there is a disagreement about the value of his next contract. If they want to trade him then maybe the other team is having the same problem negotiating an extension or do not want to give up at least a 3rd.

remember when some said not to go all in on Cousins, because that would to severely limit the teams ability to maintain the rest of the roster.... remember when some said build a better OL and you will get better QB play from a lesser QB?  Well I think we are seeing the results of over paying a QB that cant carry an offense.  It doesnt matter what the market says a QB should be paid,  if you dont have the talent around them the results wont be pretty.  Kirk will have a decent stat year,  but the team as whole will look like shit and the excuses will be that once again we need to put a better team around him,  but once again it will be a matter of what we can afford.   I think in a year or two we will be ok for cap space and Cousins deal will look ok,  but by  then he will be wanting a new deal so we will be right back to square one,  pay the QB his market value deal,  or build a roster that can contend.
How come the defense never gets any blame?  We have (had) a very expensive defense.  In fact, last year it was THE MOST EXPENSIVE DEFENSE in the league (see here https://sportsnaut.com/2019/06/nfl-most-...a-vikings/: )

Why did anyone think that we could just keep on paying those guys that much money- especially considering how SOME of them have under-performed.  Who did we lose on offense?  Kline, yep.  He was a serviceable starter, but with some injury concerns.  Diggs?  He wanted out- and we got a haul for them.  Anyone else?
Maybe we should stop blaming a top-10 QB, who is getting paid accordingly... and start "blaming" the over-paid defense?

The over paid defense is gone,  except for Barr,  but it's pointless to complain about players hurting the cap that are no longer here.

Pumpf and Jimmy are both right. The capital invested in the Defense should have resulted in Elite, not Very Good play. Couple that with the pricey QB and there was no flexibility to fix the Line other than the Draft

And the same guys who brought that predicament to you are now masterminding Phase 1 of the rebuild with zero assurances they will be around for Phase 2 or Phase 3.

Not sure I understand what the Wilfs are up to.

Well a lot of posters (not me) say they are the GREATEST owners we've ever had.   And just look at all the big time winning they've done in 15 years here, so how could you doubt them?  :p

“Rebuild”. I disagree with this term in regards to the Vikings.
We’re in the middle of a fair number of personnel changes, but nothing extraordinary. We’re jettisoning huge contracts. Besides Diggs, no one is walking who either can’t be replaced by players already on the team or through a good draft. Especially with a number of early picks. We addressed the one area I felt probably needed to be with a free agent in the middle of the line. Yes this team will be young, but it still has some seriously good players a key positions.

I fully expect this team to make a playoff run again. If this coaching staff is actually good, that will be the case.
I get how it can feel like a “rebuild” since people aren’t sure about some of the other guys on the roster, but the coaches certainly are. If the coaches believe Holton Hill can exceed 2019 Rhodes, this is potentially an upgrade. Personally, I think he has the ability. I have concern for his off field, but not much for his on the field play.
Lastly, I wouldn’t trade Ant for anything less than a 2nd. I’d rather roll with him or get him on a long term contract. He’s a top 5 safety. Just like prior to the Diggs trade, I think many fans greatly underestimate value. If we absolutely had to get rid of the guy for cap reasons that’s a different story, but we don’t in this case.
