Could The Vikings Trade Diggs This Offseason?
#81
*IF* Diggs does want a trade, there are probably lots of reasons why.
But if the reason is the typical WR gripe ("give me the d*mn ball"), that's interesting considering we have a new offensive coordinator this season. You'd think he'd give it a chance with the new guy but maybe he's just ready to get off the merry go round of OCs.
It sucks if he's forcing his way out, and I'll be really bummed. But I honestly can't blame him if he just wants some stability. If I got a new boss at my job every year it'd get old fast.

Diggs is a diva.  Talented. But a diva nonetheless.  Personally I think he's jealous of Thielen or anyone else who gets the spotlight.

Too many good receivers in the draft and free agency.
Not receivers who can do this.

Ok, I have made a point of not commenting in this thread up until now because I am a Diggs fan girl and this thread is making my eyes bleed. But, for argument’s sake (and this is a legitimate question from me not sarcasm), please someone tell me why Diggs is pissed? Is he mad about his contract and his numbers compared to his best friend Adam’s numbers? Is he mad about not getting the ball more? The offense Zim wants to run? Does he dislike Cousins so much that he wants off the team? Is his jock too tight and we’re over the cap and can’t afford to get him a new one??? What’s the reason???

I know this kid is emotional and a hot head and loses his cool at less than great moments, but if anybody thinks Thielen plus a rookie plus Bisi Johnson is going to set the league on fire next season I think you’re sorely mistaken...and I love Thielen a ton, but he can’t do it alone...I guess I just hope all this drama works itself out over the next few months, because otherwise it’ll make me nearly as sick as when we traded away a certain other receiver back in the day...

You have a QB that can't deliver the ball when he's open, and you want to get rid of the receiver?
Have you not figured out why Thielen and Diggs have had dust ups on the sidelines with Cousins?
I wouldn't be surprised if Diggs wanted to play elsewhere, but I can't believe anyone can't see the reason for his frustrations.
You actually have two of the best wide receivers in the league. You might want to get a guy in here who can deliver the ball.
Given that Cousins just took Diggs to his career best, has a damned good completion average, has the best deep ball we've seen in many years, and is rated easily in the top 10 (sometimes top 5, depending on the source), I can't fathom your dismissal of Cousins.  In fact, most of the hate sent toward him makes little to no sense.

Yeah, he got paid...but his contract was overrun almost instantly by other top-10 QBs, some of which didn't have Cousins' success.

He has had, at absolute best, lower-mediocre pass protection much of his Vikings career.

As for the diva Diggs...I've seen good defenses cover him without much difficulty, and his tendency to try and create yards by looping backwards fails 90% (or more) of the time...and that's when HE stays healthy.

I like Diggs, but his brattish behavior is annoying as hell.  Stefanski was more of a problem than Cousins was, and I think that'll be clear this season.

Diggs is from MD and I'm sure he's caught Ravens fever.  He want's to be THE option in the passing game, not one of three or four.  Add to that the "run-first" strategy of the team compounds Digg's frustration.
No one should work for an employer that doesn't meet his or her needs.  Receiving fair compensation in return for voiding an employee's contract is the issue.

I cant speak for everybody,  but I am about done with Diggs,  and its not because I dont love his play,  its the drama.   If he cant come out and say whats on his mind and be done with it then get what we can get and move on, or at least point out that he isnt in as huge of demand as his antics portray.  If he wants to be here and wants to help this team finally win a championship then I wish he would STFU and tell the cowherds and other media monsters thats what he wants so the focus can be on other things.  ( i dont really like social media to begin with, and especially the way Diggs is using it by laying out crypitic bait for people to sit and speculate on all day)

sick of his “bitch” like act.  Send him to Cincy for the first pick in the second round.  See how many endorsements he gets there.

This needs to be handled asap and not left to linger.  His drama is toxic and unnecessary.
