Teens charged with hate crimes for attacking a woman on a bus and saying she caused coronavirus, NYPD says (CNN) — Teen girls were charged with hate crimes after police said they attacked a woman on a New York bus, made "anti-Asian statements" toward her and told her she caused coronavirus.
Police said the four suspects attacked the 51-year-old victim on an MTA bus in the Bronx. They called her a expletive, said she caused coronavirus and asked her why she wasn't wearing a mask, NYPD Lt. Thomas Antonetti told CNN. One of the suspects struck the woman's head with an umbrella before all four of them fled the bus, police said.
The woman received stitches for a cut on her head at a local hospital, the NYPD said in a statement.
Shortly after the incident, officers arrested three15-year-old girls near the scene. The teens were charged with hate crime assaults, menacing and harassment for the attack, the NYPD said.
But police are still searching for the fourth suspect, believed to be the only one who struck the woman with the umbrella. Antonetti said she's likely a teen, too.

Why do people have to be such asz hats??? :/
why is NYC allowing kids to be riding buses during a stay at home order? There is no school, and they are to young to be working most likely, since businesses are not allowing kids into their stores under 16, why would NYC even be allowing them onto buses?

At the bold... I could not help notice. Some can't make a post without tying it to the "almighty" Trump. I wonder how the bold is related to the gesture. I bet in some twisted reasoning baked in someone's brain Kraft and co are doing it because of their "friendship" with Trump. The post is even qualified with the word "apparently".
For such a delicate snowflake constantly triggered and whining about leaving politics out of this he/she/them/they sure do bring up politics a whole lot.

He doesn't ask to not talk politics as long as it is politics that align with his. But when comments dont align with his he frequently calls out mods and posters for talking politics, what he perceives as talking politics or when mods "like" when someone posts something he perceives political. And mocks them by saying to keep politics out of this.

There is no school, and they are to young to be working most likely, since businesses are not allowing kids into their stores under 16, why would NYC even be allowing them onto buses? Not everyone abides by stay at home orders in any city/state...especially teens. Also, all the fast food and other restaurants are still open for take-out and those are jobs dominated by teens. But I will take a leap and say this group was not bus-pooling to work

thats why they are not being allowed into stores, they are likely the highest risk group to be spreading the virus.
as far as food jobs, I wasnt sure if they still hired teens or not, I had heard a lot of parent saying that there arent as many opportunities for kids in those jobs since so many people are working multiple jobs these days... who ya want a teen or an adult with motivation to show up for work and not be snapchatting every 2 mintues.

Are you going to question every teen who gets onto a bus? Maybe they're going to get food. Maybe they're transitioning from one parent to the other. Maybe they're going to help a sick relative. It's just impossible to enforce. I have a stay at home order, too. Doesn't mean I don't get in my car and grab some Q'Doba, or go get groceries. I don't use transit to do those things, but that's only because I have a car.
