The 2023 draft that netted one starter from our picks and a starter from an UDFA...  after two seasons, we cut Jaren Hall, Jacquelin Roy, and McBride.  That's half the draft class that couldn't stick past two seasons.

That's an A+?  

I'd say it was above average considering where our picks were, but it wasn't a great draft class unless you count Hockenson in it since we gave up our 2nd a had a pick swap in there.

IMO I dont ever consider trading a draft pick for a player as a coup in a draft unless its a complete steal,  which Hock for a 2nd on the end of his deal... not really.  Those picks real value isnt in the ability they may or may not have,  its that those cheap contracts coupled with the fact that you may get above average production from those cap dollars vs paying a 2nd or 3rd tier FA even more cap money for the same level of play.

And though he was taken after the draft, Ivan Pace Jr. started from week 1. 2024 doesn't really work since neither McCarthy or Turner have been able to crack the starting lineup (I don't think the kicker counts). Hard to see another starter from 2025 other than Donovan Jackson.

I dont think HC contracts are as released/transparent as they used to be?

You can't count Blackmon as a starter from that draft.  5 or 6 starts is too small of a sample size.  Akayleb Evans started like 17 games his first two years and we cut him because he showed a little promise and then fizzled the longer he played.

I think it's too early to call him a hit or a miss, especially since he was hurt all of last year. But if your definition of "starter" is "one who starts," then he qualifies. But I sorta see your point. In high school I had a '76 Pontiac Astre that did indeed have a starter that didn't start.
