Vikings owner Mark Wilf says "we've had very, very positive conversations" with GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah about a contract extension and "that's something we're going to continue to work towards this offseason." Asked if it's something he wants to get done, Wilf said: "Yes it is."

He's probably still putting it through his analytics process to determine the optimal time horizon for contract length vs real cost accounting, amortization, and ROI.

He probably made a counter offer a lot lower than what the Wilfs offered Smile

Rumor has it that Kwesi is the one holding this up—that he's the one with the cards, not the Wilfs. I don't know if that's true or not, but I think by and large, fans have overrated the weight that horrible draft in 2022 carries. Because outside of that one draft, everything he's done has been gold.

No, Not having an extra 1st in the 23 draft was a big time whiff. Other than Jordan Addison, no draft pick has done much of anything. 2024 draft still pending results. Last years FA was good and this years FA looks good on paper. Mixed bag. They need a couple of Philly type drafts in 25 and 26.

It's not a mixed bag at all and I'm not going to go into everything he's done in terms of culture, the cap, the draft and free agency because it would take time I don't have and you already know it anyway. You just choose not to see it.

Not having an extra 1st in 2023 was about the 2022 draft. Again, there isn't anyone who would argue that this wasn't a terrible draft. However, the Vikings 2023 draft was not a miss at all. Addison was taken 4th among four 1st round receivers. He has been better than all of them. Blackmon was the 50th defensive player taken in that draft, but had the 4th highest PFF grade among all defensive rookies. He was the only player to have at least 400 snaps and not miss a tackle. Our 2023 draft ranked 10th among 32 teams by Bleacher Report in a review done a year later. It ranked 8th by CBS, and was one of only three drafts to be given an A+ by another site. We've had better drafts, but if you think 2023 was a bad draft, you need context. 20+ teams would've loved that draft.

You are spin doctoring to make your point. 6 picks, one being impactful. So all Drafts are judged well if they hit on one player? Piss poor percentage. I happen to think Blackmon has a chance. Thank you for graciously recognizing the 2022 Draft as one of the worst in Viking's history Wink  What 'culture' has KAM brought to the equation? He's got much to prove, its why he hasn't been re-upped on his contract. Why play hard ball if he's that good? No reason of course. The jury is still very out on the KAMster.

I think you could spin Kwesi whichever way you want and both sides have good points to support their opinions. To me, it's all about JJ McCarthy at this point. If he turns out to be the franchise quarterback everyone thinks he is and the 2022 draft gets deleted in everyone's minds. I'd personally like to see how the upcoming season plays out and maybe win a playoff game before handing him over a new contract, but that's just me. It would be so Wilf bro's to sign him to an extension before the season and we end up going 6-11. Hope they just let things play out.

This....

As much as we lump JJM/Turner together, the truth is the QB is most important - and its not close.

Turner is important, JJM critical.
