The problem with political debates is that people tend to argue at a macro level. Vaccines, tax policy, climate change...these are massive topics and I've seen so many people go down the rabbit hole trying to prove their points, using science or economic theory, or whatever, that no one understands.
The way I see it, a preponderance of the evidence and scientific consensus should show any reasonable person that, for example, climate change is real and we're causing it, or that, for example, vaccines work to prevent measles, mumps, etc., and are not the cause of autism.
With that in mind, what is your preponderance of the evidence regarding Qanon? I see a man walk in to a pizza place with a gun because Qanon told him that the basement was a den of sex trafficking and pedophilia involving Hillary Clinton and John Podesta. I think most people hear that and just shake their heads. You have to admit, it sounds pretty looney. It sounds like a recipe, doesn't it? Hmmm...what's the worst thing we can think of? Pedophilia! And who's the best person we can associate with it? Hillary! It begs the question: where is your bullshit detector?
Now, I know this is just one among hundreds of other things that Qanon has espoused. But what's your defense of it? Just use this one example and we can move on to the next. Or not, because at some point, when one thing is proven false--and ridiculously false--don't you have to question the veracity of all of it?
