I have less trust of people with masks because I have observed most wearers exhibiting dangerous behaviors, such as touching their mask repeatedly, including touching the inside of the mask with their finger to pull it down, and then touching other surfaces.

I would rather have them healthy and not touching a snot rag constantly.
Maybe you should educate them. Just a crazy thought

working on it.  See the post above about the NE Journal of Med stating masks don't protect against the virus. "the desire for
widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic."
That was written almost 4 months ago and has since been updated by its own writers....

We understand that some people are citing our Perspective article (published on April 1 at NEJM.org)1 as support for discrediting widespread masking. In truth, the intent of our article was to push for more masking, not less. It is apparent that many people with SARS-CoV-2 infection are asymptomatic or presymptomatic yet highly contagious and that these people account for a substantial fraction of all transmissions.2,3 Universal masking helps to prevent such people from spreading virus-laden secretions, whether they recognize that they are infected or not.4
We did state in the article that “wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection,” but as the rest of the paragraph makes clear, we intended this statement to apply to passing encounters in public spaces, not sustained interactions within closed environments. A growing body of research shows that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission is strongly correlated with the duration and intensity of contact: the risk of transmission among household members can be as high as 40%, whereas the risk of transmission from less intense and less sustained encounters is below 5%.5-7 This finding is also borne out by recent research associating mask wearing with less transmission of SARS-CoV-2, particularly in closed settings.8 We therefore strongly support the calls of public health agencies for all people to wear masks when circumstances compel them to be within 6 ft of others for sustained periods.
At this point, its ridiculous of anyone to think that wearing masks doesn't help the situation. Its all about SUSTAINED INTERACTIONS IN CLOSE QUARTERS. That's the issue, how it gets spread. And where masks should be worn. If you are outside walking around in space you don't need a mask. I mean, c'mon now isn't it obvious and common sense? When I see a few posters stubbornly try and downplay the importance of wearing masks its because its politicized for them. And you know who you are in this forum that are still doing this, smh.
Wearing a mask requires so little.  Wearing a mask shows empathy and concern for not just yourself but others.  It’s amazing that there is a significant portion of the population that calls this “Tyranny”

All this bitching about the tyranny of masks, yet no bitching about federal goons throwing people in detention for exercising their 1st amendment.

The cognitive dissonance is appalling, dangerous, and disgusting.

”I will not comply. . . “ well I will not pay for your health care costs

I have to say I'm proud of my fellow MN's (today anyways lol!)

At our retail store this week, everyone had a mask coming in and that was before the state mandate went into effect Saturday.

Was @ HyVee and Target this weekend, EVERYONE had a mask on too.

and I over heard a group of Minnesotans talking about how to get out of the mask requirement,  apparently if you have a medical condition you dont have to wear a mask,  but it is illegal for business owners and  law enforcement to ask you what your medical condition is or to require proof of said condition,  so essentially the law will go unenforced.

I think FL is now the #2 Covid state in USA?

This doesnt surprise me in the least. IF you're going to try and have a season, this is very likely to happen and happen more than once. Especially with how prevalent COVID-19 is in the US this summer.

Imagine potentially how much more often in a contact game like football? And what about the coaches catching this too? I've posted a lot how many of the Vikings staff is near 60, at 60 or over 60. Dom Capers is 69, Patterson is over 60, Zimmer is too

That said, I was totally distracted by the link to "40 sideline reporters who almost went too far"

dayum those links...

We are going to pass 150k deaths today. Orher countries that put masks and other mitigating actions are down to 0 or very low new infections.

Wear the damned mask.
