If push comes to shove...

lol, that's classic Jim Harbaugh. Not sure how being able to move up for the #4 rated QB is like 'having the #1 pick'. He does love JJ, but its in his best interests to also hype JJM so that #5 pick becomes hotter. He knows Pro Days are garbage.
I think he just means the Chargers are in a very good position to get the best non-QB in the draft.
Their best move is to trade out of this spot for picks. Let's see if they do.

Do the trade charts even work for 11/23 for 5?

Yes. From what I read a week or so ago, that would cover a trade for the #5 selection.

What if Kwesi pivoted completely? Traded down from #11 and/or #23. Acquired picks in this draft and/or the 2025 draft in order to take a shot at a QB next year.
If Kwesi trades DOWN in this draft from either position, he looks like a complete idiot.  What would have been  the purpose of trading for the second first rounder in the first place
To put us in a better position to trade up for a QB. But it didn't come with a guarantee that it was going to work. If it doesn't, I wouldn't force an ill fit. The Vikings are going to get two very good players there. But if the value is consistent between 23 and, say, 35, then a trade down might make some sense, especially if it gets you a second 1st rounder next year.

Man, they really are going to blow this whole thing and get stuck with Darnold and either Nix or Penix, be the laughing stock of the league, finish dead last in the division and sit on the endless merry go round of trash QBs.
Minnesota has absolutely no leverage. Every team in the NFL knows Sam Darnold is a hot garbage place holder and the Vikings are BEYOND desperate for a QB. Unfortunately there are half a dozen teams in the same boat with a better chance to get a difference maker than them.
Kwesi cocked this whole thing up by not signing Kirk to a three year extension last year and it will be his undoing. If he just sits and lets the draft “come to him”, this team and all its one year contracts will implode
That remains to be seen, who knows. But one thing I do know: if he signed Kirk to that 3 year extension last year, some fans would be bitching about that as well. A portion of the base wanted to move off of him regardless.

The question mark I have about KAM is: why wouldn't the organization have drafted Will Levis when he was right there? The only thing I can think of is they didn't like him as a prospect.
No argument from me about Kirk.

I have no idea why the team didn't want Levis. A few years from now we'll probably get some answers on that, but right now it's a mystery. I suspect character. Vikings had several connections to him. They may not have liked what they heard.

My issue with Kwesi is that he rarely seems willing to go that extra bit to get something done. He seems to have a very rigid financial vision and he stretches it for no one. We'll see if he's willing to give that extra little bit to land the QBOTF. Because if he's left standing at the altar two years in a row after failing with Cousins, the Wilfs are going to want answers.
The Wilfs, the players, the fans, the coaches everyone. It’s why I will not bemoan an “overpay” if the team moves up for a QB and has to give a ransom to do it. The alternative of waiting an entire year for another chance to draft a franchise QB, while likely being middling again next season, is a tough pill to swallow.

Let’s hope KAM knows what he’s doing! I think he does but the uncertainty is scary right now.

Agree. I think they have to overpay and I think most of us understand that. Just not sure Kwesi does.

Given that we don't have a #2 this year, it makes no sense to package 11/23 for a 5.  What if you shoot your wad and miss?  (That's never happened to a first round QB pick in NFL history, has it?)
Be smart Kwesi...keep em both.  Nix and DT Murphy

Maybe you would get Nix @ 23, I have no idea whether he will go in first or not?

Murphy you would have to take @ 11. If all 4 qb's are gone, Vikings might be happy with him being available. Flores sure would be

I don't think Nix will get past Denver nor the Raiders.
There are so many smoke screens out there to keep other teams guessing.
Looking at some of the in-depth scouting reports on the top 6 QBs, several pundits don't understand why Nix is thought of so poorly (compared to say the top 3).  He is accurate, ball placement is consistently good (even placing it in a tight window), he is a dual threat and not afraid to run, checks down rapidly, quick trigger arm, definitely has arm strength.
I'm sounding like a broken record here...Nix at 11, DT at 23.  Two bona fide first round talents.

I'll throw out a different scenario that doesn't necessarily make sense (given our D needs), but Nix at 11 and his C at Oregon...Jackson Powers-Johnson at 23.  Getting the band back together.  While he would appear to be an upgrade at C for us, we have deeper needs elsewhere.  There, I threw it out there and even I am shaking my head at the logic.

I see projections of Nix all over the place....

But I agree Denver will very likely take a QB @ 12. I have read comparisons of Nix to Brees and that would make Payton happy.

I have no idea what the Vikings think of Nix. And unless they draft him, we never will.

We have no idea how the team has the QBs ranked. It's possible that they have Nix and/or Penix ranked higher than Maye and/or JJM.
