Kansas City Chiefs are re-signing quarterback Chad Henne to a one-year, $2 million contract to back up Patrick Mahomes, per a league source

For comparison's sake.

Anyone want Mannion for similar money?

Not a fan of Mannion, but remember since Kirk has been the Vikings QB, he's had the ability to basically choose his backup. Mannion is a good sounding board for him and I would presume he wouldn't get more than the vet minimum.
why does he need a “sounding board”, ?  For advice? Good God this is worse than i thought

Because our awesome 10 year vet QB is still learning the finer points of the game, I guess.  Hopefully Manion can help "coach up" KC and finally we all see the talented gun slinger come to life. B)

Lol. You saw Mannion attempt to play against Green Bay right? I think he needed coaching up.

It's about not having a real threat in the QB room for Kook.  Mannion is perfect, he's no threat to Kirk and no QB controversy.

Amazing how this milquetoast QB has been able to control the fate of this franchise.

Not upgrading the back up position is a shame and shows we are weak in an honest assessment about the investments.

I stand by my statement of last year in the argument of putting down the ole dog mannion as a player---if he ever touches the field, you've signaled your season is over.

All the QBs moving around this offseason reminds me of when Matt Flynn was a backup QB and had basically one good game and got a huge contract from Seattle.

That could’ve been you this year, Mannion. You could’ve had class. Could’ve been a contenda.
