Why would Tucker Carlson give Putin a Platform?

The hilarious part is Carlson mentions Moscow as a 'beautiful city...we have nothing like it in the United States'. lmao. Isn't this where Fox News demographic viewers scream, 'If you like it there so much, why don't you move there'! I guarantee if some liberal 'journalist' said that in an interview with Putin they'd want him hung by his balls in the town square. But that's the hypocrisy of it all.
is there anything from either side of the American political theatre that isnt dripping with hypocrisy?  seriously,  the left is calling out journalistic integrity after the last decade of stories that have been proven bull shit time after time,  topic after topic, is the real irony here.

by the way,  I am conservative but would never piss and moan about somebody recognizing architecture that is hundreds of years older than anything in this country,  now those progressive pukes that wax poetic about the beauty of communist foreign govt   they are free to go ahead and leave.

I'd love to visit Moscow.  (not right now obviously) We don't have anything as beautiful as the old countries in the USA.  Its just a fact.
You're missing my point. I'm certain Moscow is amazing, zero doubt. That is irrelevant to what I'm trying to say here. lol.

There was a time in the past where people argued
points.  Facts countered facts and the
best facts won people’s minds.  If
someone like Putin made a point, you addressed the point he was trying to make.  We currently live in a time period where we
don’t address points.  We don’t try to highlight
what is wrong with an argument.  We live
in a world that is massively saturated with information.  Lots of that information is wrong.  The mainstream media used to research
things.  Now they use the same 24 year old
interns and AI to spit out catchy headlines that are just designed to agitate
people or push agendas.  They intentionally
ignore facts that are counter to their agenda.
This is mainstream news, which has a lower approval rating than either Trump
or Biden.

What you see out of people is that instead of arguing facts
and points, they instead say things like “This is a bad person, I’m choosing to
ignore everything they say.” Or “This person gave a bad person a platform, so
now they are a bad person and I’m choosing to ignore everything they say”.  For people that consume “biased” media, they
don’t have enough facts to have coherent worldviews, so they do that thing
where your brain decides to just ignore everything that contradicts your
pre-existing worldview.  In the past, the
media was much more consolidated and there was only one perspective offered.  Now each side is given partial truths that
make them further divide themselves into tribes and that has furthered this
mental block that people are experiencing.

The fact is we might as well be friends with Russia.  We certainly seem to be becoming more like them every day.  People get mad at Carlson because he hits on the truth, much as Trump upsets the establishment.   Putin is a POS and so is Zelensky.  The problem is Putin has the wherewithal with his military to do bad things, and he’ll do them when our leadership is so compromised.  I know this…. The people are outraged because Carlson is favorable of Trump, and people listen to him.  Biden and Hillary sold their souls to Putin years before their “accusations” against Trump.  Kinda like the whole classified material scam.  They complain and create false charges under a DOJ that will prosecute one side and excuse the other. We all know it’s true.  Some like to look the other way because of their rooting interest.

To you, what is the significance of this story to this thread
that we’re in?  Not that I'm saying that you shouldn't say it, but rather how does it contribute?  Like do you feel that
this changes or reinforces whether or not we should be allowed to hear the
opinions of the leader of one of the worlds countries?  Should other countries censor Biden or Sunak for not working
to free Assange from his indefinite imprisonment without having faced trial?

is this any different  than when people have convenient suicides in this country?  or other unfortunate accidents?

is our govt above reproach when we have a former president on trial for things that the sitting president gets a pass for?

its sad that the whole push for anybody but trump was to get the adults back in charge and to restore the US's image globally,  I dont see that happening and if anything we look even worse now than we ever did with Trump.  its a damn joke from the Feds on down when it comes to  the people that run our states and country.  And this is in no way pointed at one party, I am so sick of our Republican party in SD I could scream.  Fucking frauds selling out local landowners rights to out of state corporate interests.

It's not an anti-trump post, nor is it Pro Biden...

Although I suspect you know how I feel about orangeboi, his values and his political positions.  It does underscore Putin is a POS and Carlson should not have given him a platform.

i dont understand how so many of these conversations pivot-back to yah but look at "insert Hilary or anything else here."

It's a little bit like saying dont call out Mussolini in the 30's/40's cause look @ Hitler or Tojo Wink

PRECISELY. This is, short of the actual corruption and destruction to the country, my main reason for wanting to destroy the duopoly:

any mention of one party's/candidate's failings is met with "...bu-bu-bu-THE DEMOPLICANS...".

This is made worse, unfortunately, by the "sides" coddling their enablers, whether redcaps that mysterious show up at white nationalist rallies, or hard lefties shrieking (with various levels of understanding) to destroy Israel. The gop enables Russia, the dnc enables Iran.

Blow up the f***ing duopoly.

It circles around because no one trusts each other to do the
right thing.  No one is acting on principles
any more.  When you say things like “Hey
lets all agree that this one person I hate is a bad person, but also lets ignore
all the other people who are doing the same thing” it’s kind of hard to follow
you there.

Regardless, the more salient questions are, “Why should informed
citizens not be allowed to hear the opinions of ‘bad’ world leaders?” and “Should
this standard of censorship apply to all ‘bad’ world leaders or just the ones
you are focusing on”
