Yeah, at that price, why didn't he stay a Viking?

Not sure, it’s closer to home for him in Richmond, Va,

I don't think the Vikings ever planned on retaining Harris. Overrated by the fans and this validates that, his contract is NOTHING.

They need another safety and probably two no matter how you slice it.

It is a surprise he signed for so little especially when there were reports that the Vikings were interested in bringing him back.

I await the announcement of a worse safety for the veteran minimum that many will immediately pump up as being better than Harris.

This team needs a defensive end, offensive tackle, offensive guard, and two safeties and only has 1 pick in the top 77 right now.

I am hoping they have some more moves but am resigned to not expecting too much.

IIRC Harris wasn't thrilled with the tag last year,  I dont know that this was as much about the Vikings not wanting him back or not willing to pay more, as it was him getting the hell away from the Vikings.   Last year was his year to cash in,  instead he is forced to come back and has by most accounts a poor year,  that has to be viewed by him as they killed his value.  I am not surprised to see him playing somewhere else on a cheap prove it type deal for 1 year over coming back here to who knows what.

As ridiculous as that sounds, you're probably right.
