Technically, researchers were/are creating transgender mice for research purposes.  It is unknown if a transgender mice model is predictive of human transgender response.

After a quick search, here are a couple examples from Pubmed with citations:

If you look at those quoted studies transgender, most had to do with hormonal research.  Some examples:

"Gender-Affirming Testosterone Therapy on Breast Cancer Risk and Treatment Outcomes”

If you do a little research, some of these transgender research projects..utilized hormonal transgender research on transgenic altered mice..(I know...mind blowing)

Everyone has a right to protest peacefully.  Get a permit and do it the right way.  They do not have the right to threaten others or impede public spaces or damage property.

We have protests on campus here in Madison virtually every day for something.  It was Pro-Ukraine, Transgender rights, Save Medicare and Musk bashing last week.

Exactly. Protests are, rightly, protected in this country...when kept civil, and not disrupting the lives of the citizens in the area.

The KKK used to get permits for their sad little marches all the time, in the 80's and 90's. They had been shown to be such a pathetic, hateful, marginalized group that they'd get their 10-12 morons marching down the street and be treated like a carny attraction.

Society was able to show its opinion, and the "cause" dwindled constantly.

The whole point of free speech is to show the better point; the KKK and various Aryan groups were infamously down to dregs in membership, losing leases on their halls, and basically being destroyed by an America that wasn't interested in their s**t.

Unfortunately, it is.  I support the right to free speech, but if any line is crossed by radical groups in terms of violence, I'm also for a very short leash with strict and severe punishment which then also moves to a gray area.  It'd be a better world if these people just didn't exist, but it's not the way the world works.
