Why would anybody think that interception was a bad thing? Sam had scrambled out of the pocket and extended the play as far as he could. It's going to be a change of possession. At that point, you throw it up and hope one of your receivers can make a jump ball catch. The second best outcome is the interception which gains you field position. Worst case scenario was running out of bounds or an incomplete/defended pass.
Edit: I actually found it amusing when the Bears players were mugging for the camera with the Skol chant and celebrating that "interception". I'm guessing their DC will point out once again the prudent play would have been to knock the ball down. The Bears lost 8 yards on a play that should have been over. Dumb interception.
