I think you're seeing this through a purple lens. No doubt, three of those QBs could go early, but there are a few pretty good players in this draft who don't play QB. For example, most big boards have WR Marvin Harrison Jr. as the top prospect in this class. There are a couple other WRs and a couple tackles who will figure in as well.
watch Washintons Rome Adunze tonight, if he goes off like he can, he could certainly push his name into that conversation, kid is fearless and tough as hell.
Odunze has been consensus for a top pick pretty much all year.
I havent seen him in the top 10 though. A big game tonight and he may be moving on up. Ive seen some that dont have him even as the 2nd receiver off the board. I havent watched a lot of MHj, but I wouldnt be scared at taking Adunze at any position, I think his game is as good as any ones. the kid just plain has the looks of a guy with a long NFL career IMO.... but what do I know, I didnt think Addison was going to be worth a shit as a blocker, but I watched him specifically on a couple plays yesterday and he stone walled a guy on one play, got his shit handed to him on the next one, but that was against a guy about 90#s heavier and he already had a bit of head start.
latest pff mock has onduze going 9 to bears.
i counted 4 washington players going in the first round with penic at 8. then onduze, ol and de.
no michigan players in first rounf fwiw
again pff
mostly I have seen him around pick 15.

He slides in mock drafts due to positional value, but if you're talking about big boards (not trying to pick who goes where, but just ranking them as prospects), he's top 10 in most.

That's really hard to do.
The closer anyone scrutinize his resume the more it will be understood he has everything going for him.
He's the guy I want the Vikings to draft. 100%
IMO Nix' game is comparable to Drew Brees, doggedly fundamental in mechanics .
He frustrates and beats defenders because he gives no tells since his mechanics are so tight and consistent.
He'll take his lumps as a rookie, but he'll start next year and win games.
I am all in on Nix. He's grown each year...he was pretty "just okay" at Auburn.
His completion percentage grew each year. From 57.6% at Auburn his first year, to 71.9% his first year in Oregon last year, and 77.4% this year. This shows me that he is able to grow and improve.
Beyond his stats, I like his attitude. Caleb Williams proved to be a crybaby and sat out his bowl game (like many others). Bo Nix played and expressed gratitude for the opportunity. Good for him.
I don't want to compare him with Kirk Cousins, (although some scouts have, translating to a limited ceiling...but Cousins best year statistically was his Junior year at 66.9%, regressing to a 63.7% completion percentage his final year at Michigan State.
Knowing what we now know about Kirko Chainz, I think that is a package that I would feel comfortable building around.

Watching Penix last night, how many times did you notice him doing things work on Sundays?
Huskies Oline is above average and has enabled him to get away with it.

What is your basis for this? I live in LA and have watched every game he has played in, he is an amazing guy and leader. It was in the best interest of the team for him not to play in the bowl game so they could evaluate Miiler Moss as they had other QBs lined up for potential transfers. It worked to their benefit as Moss looked amazing and has given them great evaluation to go on for next year.
Don't draft Bo Nix because he's a good dude and grateful, draft him because you think he'll be an excellent QB. Which that's a huge question if he is. I don't understand the fan's feels when it comes to these kids, like getting pissed because Caleb Williams skipped his Bowl game. Who cares? He's the best prospect in this Draft easily. I don't get how skipping his Bowl game makes him less of a 'good person'?
I like good people as much as the next person, but I want the Vikings to draft a great QB first and foremost. I couldn't give two shits that Bo Nix spent last Saturday outside a grocery store helping sell Girl Scout cookies, there's a reason he's seen as 'lesser than' then probably the top 5 guys. I'm not saying don't draft Nix, what I'm saying is stay away from the feels. We don't know any of these kids. For all we know, Bo Nix might be the kind of dude that likes cottage cheese.
This had been discussed already, but the top 3 teams in the draft are QB needy and are all pretty much locks to take quarterbacks in some order. Even if the Bears stick with Fields and trade out, the chances of them trading that pick to Minnesota is pretty much zero. So figure Williams, Maye and Daniels are all gone, which leaves the Vikings to decide if either McCarthy or Penix are worth the pick (if McCarthy declares). Just my opinion, but it looks like we will be holding an empty bag at the end of the day and likely be looking at guys like Nix and Cam Ward in the second round

As of today it does feel like this. But the thing is— whether people like the “competitive” rebuild strategy or not, this year there isn’t a ton we could have done either way.
The teams at the top of the draft S U C K sucked. Even if we’d moved on from Kirk and rolled with Mullens at QB all year long, it’s hard to picture this team only winning 4 or fewer games. I guess we coupd’ve brought Donatell back lol, but short of that I don’t think a top 3 pick was going to happen for us.
The Panthers won 2 games and the Pats were so bad they might fire Bill Belichek. We certainly could have gotten much closer to #1 but if we’re saying the QBs we really want will be gone by pick 4, we were pretty much destined not to get one considering where our franchise and roster is at.

Agreed...I have already told myself they are not going to get a ranked top 3 qb in this draft. Maybe they'll get a gem later, but nobody can crystal ball who that might be.
I do like the scenario of taking one of the top D players @ 11 and trying to trade back into the late 20's to grab a Penix or JJM if he declares.
