BIG RUMOR: Vikings 'love Will Levis'

My take is that they love Stroud/Richardson and like Levis. Maybe that isn't 100% correct but its how I've wrapped my arms around it. How high they would move up for any of them? No idea. You also need a willing partner to move back to #23 in a draft class with few few blue chip players. So it likely will need to be a team getting desperate to move back or a team in the latter portion of the top 10/ early teens that isn't moving back as significantly. 8 & 10 make sense on a few different levels. 13 & 14 would be more realistic spots.
Odds of either of those guys being there at 8 let alone 13 seem low. I guess maybe but I have a feeling KAM is ready to bring out the big lumber and take a big swing if need be. If he can get the QBOTF for cheaper than I’m anticipating, that’s even better. But we need someone.

I don’t see how trading up to 2 is even possible.  Moving up to 10-15 seems within the realm of
realistic.  Investing 3 firsts to get to
2 seems like putting the entirety of KAM and KOC’s career into this one player
as they would likely be fired before the 2026 draft if they got this
wrong.  Furthermore, if Levis is this bulletproof
of a decision, why would Houston trade the pick?  What are they going to do?  Use our picks to trade back up to 2 in 2024
to get their QBOTF?

This mostly just feels like something Levis’s agent spit out
to get some hype going for his player.

Niners dumped 3 firsts into Lance and he’s barely played and they made the NFCC. One could argue they might have won it all if they had a QB, but whiffing on a QB doesn’t have to be a death sentence so long as the FO gets creative and works around it.

For reference our last 3 first round picks are Cine, Darrisaw, Gladney + JJ. Darrisaw looks to be very good but take JJ out of that and I think most fans would trade those 3 players for the #2 pick for sure. Our 3 prior to that were Bradbury, Mike Hughes and Treadwell lol. Picks aren’t everything.

I’m of the mind that if you think your franchise guy is there, you go get him. I like aggressive focus on the position. With that said, I’m having a hard time buying Will Levis as that guy. He’s a huge risk pick.
CJ Stroud is a guy I can see them liking a lot. He’s got the arm talent and physical capability to make teams pay. We’ll see soon enough, but Levis would shock me.

KOC/KAM should have the book on Levis from Liam Coen, Kentucky’s OC/QB coach. I read that he and KOC were on the Rams staff together, so I’d think the “flow” of info on Levis would be easy between them, whether it’s bad info or good info who knows.

I’m so confused about this draft and especially all the QB smoke floating around.

SF had the other pieces in place including a great D. We're a long way from their situation. Fact is they're probably in a super bowl if they had Kirko...The guy everyone around here says isn't good enough.

Now they're stuck with a young Mr. Irrelevant with a questionable wing, and two highly acclaimed, overvalued QB's they don't trust to lead them while their window is still open. Picks aren't everything, but for all those 1st rounders any QB not named Trevor Lawrence or Justin Herbert I'm taking a hard pass.

Up to #2?? No freaking way.  We'd wreck our drafts for the next 3 years and leave holes all over the defense.

The Coen connection is key with Levis. We've heard rumors the Vikings love Levis and we've heard rumors they've taken him off their draft board. Who knows what the truth is, but I think the Coen Connection gives me hope that whatever they think, they might have enough inside info to be right.
