No Kwesi! NO!- Mannion Re-Signed
#21
Not a fan of Mannion, but remember since Kirk has been the Vikings QB, he's had the ability to basically choose his backup. Mannion is a good sounding board for him and I would presume he wouldn't get more than the vet minimum.

Maybe Mond should just become QB #2 then it's a non-issue.
No doubt. If manion can beat out mond, then we know we got notin in mond.
or,  call me crazy here,  we actually find a competent #2 option to compete with Mond for the position?

I would expect Mond to provide very good competition for Mannion this year. But again, Mannion's two years in the offense is probably going to be helpful to both Cousins and Mond when they're installing the offense this spring and summer. Maybe we draft another QB in the middle rounds. Maybe we steal Stafford's backup, or his #3.

Ideally, Mond is #2 (the other kind this year) and new QB is #3.

If they find a better option, I'm sure they will sign him. But I'd bet having two years in this offense would be helpful...at least in training camp. Quick, name the Rams backup QB.

Guru and MB are trying to put a nice spin on this which is genuinely admirable but... good lord. If the Vikings don't sign him what are the odds he's out of the league entirely... 90%?
I watched Nightmare Alley last night before bed which was a creepy (awesome) movie and I woke up in a sweat at 2am dreaming of Mannion's start vs. GB.

I witnessed it IN PERSON.  We have no chance of winning with him if Kirk misses any games.  He was awful.
