I'll Go First
#21
To be clear, I'm not advocating for it. I happen to like Cousins. But the whole Brady to 9ers thing had me thinking about what would happen if an Elite QB who is eroding but still had gas in the tank came to Minnesota, a team close to being a serious contender.

Rodgers didn't cross my mind until the Packers appeared to literally orchestrate their Draft in a manner seemingly designed to drive him out of town. Going to the Bears or 9ers would absolutely suck if he's still got 2-3 more good years left, though.

Stanley and Josh Allen have a lot of similarities...inaccurate downfield, strong arm, and good runners. People forget Stanley ran a 4.7 at the combine and when he did scramble at Iowa, he was very effective. The frustrating part was that only occurred every 4 games. Nate had a lot of weapons this past year but constantly missed easy throws and it drove me nuts. He's better than Mannion, but that isn't much of a feat, and I hope he's never a started for us as I see him being a career backup.
I wouldn't say Stanley had a lot of weapons.  He lost his top 3 receivers from 2018 (Easley, Hockenson, and Fant) and Brandon Smith missed 5 games.  Doesn't excuse the missed throws, which is why he lasted to #244.  I'm glad we picked him because I have realistic expectations for him: a backup with a legit arm that understands a pro system.
Stanley had a lot of weapons last year, ask any Iowa fan. ISM and Brandon Smith (I know he missed some time) all progressed and will be one of the best 1-2 punches in the big ten next year. Also, Tyrone Tracy and Nico Ragaini were very productive as freshman. Both of them basically negated any playing time for Oliver Martin, who was a 4-star transfer from Michigan. Lastly, they had RB's who could catch out of the back field.

Constantly we watched Nate miss open receivers and easy throws, and you see that with his career completion %. A perfect example of this was when he overthrew Hockenson by 10 yards on a 25 yard pass and there was no one around him (I think Purdue game). If Nate can be more consistent and learn how to throw a deep ball a little better then I'll be stoked and surprised. Until then, I know exactly what the Vikes are getting because I watched it for 3 years.

Did you see the McGinn article?  Your post above could become a reality...  at least the part about Rodgers being set free in the near future.  Lol

Their draft sure seemed like a team that had no designs about helping their current QB win a Championship.  Unless they really believe that last year's roster just needs a little more time to develop...

I still can't wrap my mind around it.  Even my two Packer buddies are speechless...

Those are the best kind of packer fans.

The dead cap hits are huge next two years plus we'd have a similar issue unloading Kirk although Shanahan might take him.  I don't see it  plus aside from being a pouty biatch, he is in serious decline.  It wouldn't surprise me if he retires in a couple years.
