I understand that this is a great opportunity for KS, but I will honestly lose some respect for him if he indeed goes through with this interview.  He is under contract to the Vikings until the season is over and his undivided attention should be on the Niners D and how to beat it,  not looking to his future beyond the Vikings.   I thought there used to be a rule that they could only  talk to coaches still in the playoffs if they had  a bye that week?

It's definitely not ideal, but guys typically have their prep work done beforehand. Who they would staff, what they would deploy, roster ideas, etc.

If I remember right, this is the exact same situation we were in a couple years ago.
Shurmur interviewed with NYG during the week, and we got blown out by Philly. Hope history doesn't repeat itself.
