Possible bombshell— Wesley Steinberg, a NYG reporter, is saying Caleb Williams won’t play for the Bears and is waiting for a trade before declaring.

Doubt it affects us much in regards to drafting a QB but if true- wow. (Waiting for Sticky to start a separate thread on this in 3, 2…)

Caleb Williams talked about going back to school to avoid the Bears. From what I’ve been told, Caleb Williams “desperately” wants to be a Viking.

I’m guessing the “desperately” claim is probably a bit of an exaggeration, but it sounds like the Vikings are near the top of his list for his ideal outcome.
He does want to be a Viking.....unfortunately, it doesn't mean he will. His 'team' views the organization, the market and the opportunity as perfect for him to succeed and be mentored properly. I don't think its possible, but if KAM somehow maneuvers to get this kid, it will be a home run. Like an out of the park home run deal.

IMO, there is little doubt McCarthy will be there at #11 for Minnesota.
There's at least 3 teams picking between us and 3rd that have a need at QB. He could absolutely be gone by #11. You know he is going to kill it in interviews and in workouts

The Cards will trade up to #1 with an agreement in place to trade that pick to the Vikings. Vikings get Williams, Bears get Marvin 2.0 at 4 and the Cards get pick 11, plus a haul of future picks to build around Kyler Murray. So let it be written....

Even if that happened would they take Williams or maybe take Daniels?  Awhile ago there was a report that they were doing extensive background on Daniels, just wondering?

If they want McCarty or Penix or Nix in the first round, draft them at #11. There's just too many QB needy teams immediately behind us. Denver (12), LV (13), NO (14), Seattle (16), Pitt (TBD). If you can get your QBOTF without trading away future picks, then do it & call it a win.

I'm sure they're doing extensive work on all of them. I reserve the right to change my mind, but right now I tend to agree with consensus that Williams is 1, Maye is 2, a slight gap, then Daniels, then a bigger gap.

Whatever you want to bet, I'll guarantee he'll not be gone by #11.

How about we just see if he declares first?
