if what i read was correct he would have around $3m in dead money and a cap savings around $600k if cut. i dont think its for sure that hes gone.

Morgan?  He's a valuable part of the running game.  He is an outstanding blocker.  Hell, release Ham and use Morgan as a lead blocker.  When the Vikings drafted him, he was the number one rated blocking TE coming out of college.

Look at his dead money situation. He's going into his fourth year on his rookie deal, and he was a 1st rd. pick.
You're correct...he wouldn't do much as far as cap relief...knee jerk on my part...

Morgan seems to be hurt a lot. If we need run blockers, hell, use two tackles on the right or left with O'Neill eligible... lol

The more some players speak the less credible they become.

I don't think there is any chance the Vikings will pick up Treadwell's 5th year option (decision coming up this spring), but makes me wonder if he and/or his agent think they could encourage that...

Treadwell is a wasted pick soon to not be our problem.
Shhhh.....some posters don't like to hear this. Although it is as obvious as the chest size of Kate Upton.

So if I'm reading this thread correctly. He won't likely be cut do to dead money.
Maybe the making him inactive move was just to give him something to think about in the off season. It worked wonderfully.

I think it's more like: cutting him won't save us significant cap space and we will carry $3M of dead cap anyway if he gets cut.
So the real issue is: he's not leaving unless the Vikings can find 5 WRs who are better. They have 2, but what else? Vikings scouts and coaches stumbled into Thielen and Diggs while believing Patterson and Treadwell were better prospects. Same staff believed in Stacy Coley, Rodney Adams,  MoBo, and Kendall Wright. Why do you expect their belief in Beebe and Zylstra will be justified? Our QB did a better job finding a WR on the street (Robinson) than Vikings management did in free agency (Wright).
