False confidence. Talk is one thing, walking it against one of the all time best QB's in NFL history is another. He'll understand it better after the game. Its fine, his comments. But it comes across empty to me. His INT last Sunday against the Jets was 100% a bad throw by Darnold and had nothing to do with Hill....but he did catch it, which can't be said for every DB I see on the Redzone Channel.
A bad throw was tossed in his direction and he intercepted it. I remember Xavier Rhodes dead handing many potential INTs his first couple years before he snagged a few and never looked back.
Yeah, like I said, Hill is in denial. Is it fake because he knows better?, or is it real because he is so ignorant? Again, kinda forgivable coming from a rookie about to make his first start.
Meanwhile, the latest injury report shows that X, Barr, Sendejo, Cook, and Compton did not practice today. No change from yesterday. And Reiff and Linval were limited. Same as yesterday.
I think Reiff is going to be back starting at LT....the question is then, who starts at RT? I think its going to be O'Neill. I also think Joseph is back. But no Rhodes.
It would be great to get RR and LJ back on Sunday. I hope you are right about that. O'Neill has to have won the RT job by now. Every game he has played there has been better than any game Hill played at RT. I don't care that he is a rookie. So are Holton Hill and Mike Hughes. If you are better than the vet, you should play.

Well, one has to answer the questions presented to him by the journalists, right? He isn't going to back down and it isn't like it is bulletin board material. He didn't say he was going to get an INT or shutdown Thomas.
As to Reiff, he practiced, but I am still skeptical.
I can't help but think they'll keep Reiff out till after the bye..Hell, maybe even XR and or Barr too. Might we toss LJ into the post bye pile too????
Back to O'Neill and the OL, the best defense against Brees? Keeping him on the bench with our Offense on the field. Sure wish we could run it Sunday and keep that lil SOB off the field.
With Rhodes dinged up, Vikings may need rookie Hill to step in
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Wednesday that Xavier Rhodes and Anthony Barr have a “pretty good” chance of playing against the New Orleans Saints, but neither practiced, leaving the door open to the possibility they will face Drew Brees without the two Pro Bowlers.
Both players are extremely valuable to the Vikings’ defense, but Rhodes’ skills are especially important to slowing the Saints because of the presence of top wide receiver Michael Thomas, who has 53 receptions this year.
If Rhodes can’t play, the Vikings will turn to undrafted rookie Holton Hill.
While Minnesota originally saw Hill as a project coming into the NFL, he’s been pushed up the depth chart because of Terence Newman’s retirement and a season-ending injury to first-round draft pick Mike Hughes.
“We really liked him in the draft,” head coach Mike Zimmer said of Hill. “We thought he had length and characteristics were looking for in a corner. He’s a tough guy, tackles well, can run, has physicality, can get in and out of breaks. Corners always get hurt it seems like. You don’t go through the season with the same two corners every single ball game, typically, and so that’s why everybody laughs at me ‘we need one more corner,’but it’s kind of proving out now.”
The former Texas Longhorn has been in for 39 plays this year. He’s been targeted five times with three completions for 33 yards and one interception, which came in relief of Rhodes last week against the Jets.
Hill will have help in his corner. Newman, who worked closely with Hill camp as a teammate and is now coaching the rookie DB, faced Brees on many occasions throughout his long NFL career.
“He basically told me that I’m going to have to be on my A game because Drew Brees is going to know our defense, so I have to know it as good as Drew Brees does,” Hill said Wednesday. “So I’m just taking that and coming in every day, watching extra film, meeting up with Terence.”

I think LJ will be out there. He finished the game in which he got dinged, so he probably could have played last week if it was going to be a tough game. The Saints are good at running the ball so I think LJ plays. We need to stop the run to keep Brees one dimensional.
Barr was just a tweaked hammy, so who knows. Reiff has tried to fight through the injury but has been less effective, so I hope he stays out until he is healthy.
Hit Brees early and often-----make him feel like the 40 yr old and don't let him get in a rythmn sp?

might as well hit him late a couple times two just because he is a ass
I think he’ll throw at Alexander myself, we shall see. I read going into last weeks game that our “D” had 7 players w/ a 100+ passer rating when throwing against them... ugly
Brees will be looking to pick on Hill when BAM Hunter introduces him to the turf.
