Case isn't good enough to carry any team. Neither is Cousins. I'd bet if Case was the QB for the Rams, and Goff was the QB for the Broncos, Case would be the winning QB.
Case was sucessful in Minnesota because of the team he played on. Cousins should have a better season this year than prior years with Washington for the same reason.
Are there posters here that actually think Case is a better QB than Cousins? If so, I haven't seen their posts.
I don't think anyone was necessarily that definitive, but there were plenty of people as we headed down the stretch (I'd say about 40% or better) who thought the Vikings were foolish for even considering moving on from Case Keenum.
I will admit before FA opened. I was concerned. Landing Kirk was no done deal. No matter how many experts had us as the favorites. Hey it worked we landed the big one and all is well there.
Don't mistake fear of ending up with the cupboard bare the same as we are stupid to not resign Case. Maybe the team wasn't as worried. Maybe they had some insider trading secret...wink wink. Something that wasn't public knowledge.
The coaches saw him everyday @ practice which had to have weighed heavily in the decision to part ways despite an amazing run

This won't sit well with a select few. Why, I have no idea. Its obvious. If the Viking's D hadn't been playing so badly, the organization would be hailed as geniuses for the Cousins signing.
I think that is the point of the article, they are.

I just don't think Case is playing all that much differently than last season. He's just on a crappier team, and they're not winning.
It's hard to say. I haven't really watched him, but his numbers aren't that bad, and Denver has huge problems elsewhere, particularly on their line and and on defense. They've now had two straight games where the opposing back has rushed for over 200 yards.
But if you're saying that Case is a product of his supporting cast, both in Minnesota and Denver, then you're just restating the point that so many of us tried to make last year.
He definitely misses Thielen and Diggs. Lots of rookies on that team. He was a lucky SOB last year until the playoffs and he had good players around him. I think the best thing he brought to the table was his moxie, the confidence.

I think it was more of a done deal than any of us know. I think from the Super Bowl on and through the month of February and early March, the Vikings knew that all they had to do to get Cousins was give him a competitive offer, even if it wasn't the best offer (which clearly it wasn't).
Remember, between the Super Bowl and the start of free agency, we started to hear things from teams like Arizona and Cleveland and Denver that signaled they were no longer interested in Cousins. It wasn't because they were no longer interested, it was because they now knew HE wasn't interested.
But sure, nothing's ever final final until you have a signed contract. I suspect the Vikings knew that if something blew up with Cousins they were more comfortable with a Bradford and/or Bridgewater fallback than they were with Keenum.

Well about time then! lol. :p
Still doesn't take Keenum off my wall of fame. Last year was a magical one!!
How about the pressure ?
He was the under the radar little engine that could last year & now he is being looked at as “The Guy”
Cousins embraced it, Keenum is being smothered by it

They aren't bitter they didn't get Cousins, they are bitter because the Broncos front office sold the Keenum signing as the next coming. So did the local media, basically low level bashing the Vikings for letting him go. They hyped it BIG time, go back and read the stories on it. .
Exactly. Also, the FO signing of Keenum was effectively a denial that the Broncos are in rebuilding mode, especially when they did not draft a QB. They were 5-11 last year and don't look like they will be much better. Most fans would rather have their team rebuilding than tweaking mediocrity.

In fairness to Case. Kirk was it. Case was never. Kirk had 3 years as a starter. Case was week to week. Not saying Kirk is not the better QB...just saying.
