Siemian is what 750k i think i read and 28m for Cousins, how does Arif get 30 out of that. Still would be tight but add 15m you get 44m so you have your draft money still and I am sure they can rework some deals in there somewhere to free up some more if needed.
Saw that Siemian is in the final year of his deal at 1.something mil.   Cousins is north of 28.

Sheldon Richardson seeking $15M annually

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Seahawks have offered free agent DT Sheldon Richardson a deal worth $11 million annually.
Richardson is aiming for $15 million a year, so the sides obviously have significant ground to make up. The 27-year-old is meeting with Vikings brass on Thursday, though it's unclear how much Minnesota is willing to spend after investing $84 million in Kirk Cousins. The former Defensive Rookie of the Year impressed last season, earning PFF's No. 21 grade among 79 qualifiers at defensive tackle.

We don't have the money according to this

They've got something like $50M in cap space before Cousins/Siemian and they should take $30-32M. They also have to reserve ~$6.5M for draft/udfa. That leaves ~$12M, which isn't likely enough for Richardson and breathing room. Nevermind trying to get depth as well
Huh, I could swear I read somewhere they were like 78 Mil under the cap before the new league year started.  Guess it could have just been me dreamin' though Smile

The question becomes how much is going to be guaranteed and how many years does he sign for. That allows you to manipulate signing bonus / salary and push some of today's money to later years.
The Vikings are usually loathe to do this. They are a pay-as-you-go team. That's why we have the salary cap space we have with a SB-contending team.
But when you are this close, you may just have to go all in.

cut Murray, BRob  Confused  Trade Barr for picks, maybe release Wright, we might have enough to get Richardson and the Honey Badger, depending if they want to get paid or win....  THAT would be a killer Defense!!!

At least the Organization is making the effort to go after top players...years before you would have to wait till the last couple of days of free agency to see if they signed anyone and those guys usually only hung around for a year.   Cousins and now Richardson, they are really trying this year.

I think restructure Murray and maybe extend Barr with same money or a little more just spread out to alleviate cap space.  I would like to see Murray stay but if he declines then cut him.  I am sure there are things they can do to work the deal, its just a matter of how bad do the Vikings want him.

Arif isnt someone i trust when it comes to understanding how a team functions and what they can or cant do.

now if you want long winded articles that say almost nothing, that is your choice.

you can get richardson this year but loose one of our good ones next year.  remmers is an easier cut next year. draft choices can fill the wholes on the OL for now.
