Cousins to Denver?

I guess because their defense is not too bad you can make that argument.

But they definitely are not positioned better than the Vikings.

If Cousins really wants to win (as he stated) then the Vikings have to be high on his list of potential destinations.
I would say Denver is in more of a have to win to stay relevant mode.   The Chiefs and Raiders are improving and learning to flex again in the west and the Chargers showed that they dont need fans to win football games.   Denver was winning the west when there wasnt anybody else really in the fight,  now if they hope to maintain any sort of relevancy they are going to really have to step it up.

"Wanting to win" is typically a euphemism for "best contract offer." I can see Denver throwing silly money at him.

If it were just about wanting to win, I'd say the Vikings would be at the top of the list. With the NFL's best defense, the NFL's best receiving duo, and Dalvin Cook coming back, it's hard to see a better situation.

Cousins did a Q&A with fans recently for about 2 hours at a charity fund raising event (the fans had to pay).

He specifically said he wants to win AND get paid.

"The money is not the driving factor to go another 16 games. ...And
shame on me if I feel like just a contract is going to solve my
problems. That is broken thinking. And it's going to lead to a
dysfunctional life."

"Life is about balance ... I want to win -- and be well-compensated. And it doesn't have to be extreme one way or the other."

The Broncos may throw a humongous offer at Kirk but they only have 29 mil in cap space right now before making anyy adjustments.  They have some free agents they probably want to keep too.

The Vikings have more cap space and a better roster.

I'll say this about Cousins: the guy gets it. He's a good leader and can be extremely accurate. He'll be 30 before this season starts, but he can play easily for the next 5-7 years. He can be Drew Brees like with a decent roster. I think the guy is underrated and too harshly criticized. The Redskins are idiots if they let him go, I don't think they will.

I could see any of the Florida teams making a play for him along with Arizona, KC, Buffalo, Denver, or us for that matter.
How do you see KC making a run on him?  Are they just in the business of throwing #1s away?

Arizona, Denver and Us are probably it.  Really it' probably Denver or Washington.
Wouldn't be the first time...Paxton Lynch ring a bell?
what does  KC have to do with Paxton Lynch?
The question was; who's in the business of throwing away #1 draft picks?

Agreed. Just a note that the buzz in Denver is that they will trade or release Akib Talib, shaving about $12M off their cap. So they can do it if they really want to.

He definitely gets the short end of the stick too often. The Redskins not extending him and openly questioning his ability to be a franchise QB has opened him up to being harshly criticized. I don't necessarily think he is underrated since he isn't a top 5 QB in the league. To get into the upper echelon of talent at that position you need to win football games. But he is worth $25M on a long-term deal whether it be in MN, DEN, JAX, etc..

No question the Broncos want to add their hat into the mix but if he truly looks at rosters then the Vikings should look very very good.  Maybe he considers Jacksonville if they move on from Bortles.  Unfortunately for the Jags, they have to decide if they want to let Bortles get that 5th year option amount of 19 mil before free agency begins.  If they let Bortles go and Cousins turns them down, then they will be scrambling.

I really cannot see how Cousins could objectively look at the Broncos roster vs the Vikings roster and think they have a better chance to win especially when the Vikings were one game from making the Super Bowl and most of the team coming back with plenty of cap space.

Denver's definitely going to go hard after him. Teams always do the opposite of what they did last time that didn't work, and in Denver's case it was drafting Paxton Lynch in the 1st round. They'll try to solve it this year by trying to sign a veteran. And Elway's the kind of GM who's willing to go big to get him.

However, this time last year, the whole city was convinced they were going to get Tony Romo.
Well they got Osweiler as a consolation.

As for the Vikings, just say no to 3rd Cousins.

Paxton Lynch plays for Denver and was drafted in 2016 and the cost was a 1st and 3rd.  They've tried to get him on the field, he's jus not good.

Patrick Mahomes plays for KC and is 1 year in the league and is pushing Alex Smith out of KC.  He cost KC two 1st round picks plus a 3rd round pick.  So I don't see KC in the business of throwing number 1s away.
