Back to Clinton.

On Oct. 18, 1994, Clinton approved a plan to arrange more than $4 billion in energy aid to North Korea over the course of a decade, in return for a commitment from the country’s Communist leadership to freeze and gradually dismantle its nuclear weapons development program, according to The New York Times.
The North Korean deal of 1994 is the prototype for why open societies should not negotiate arms control agreements with rogue regimes,” said Robert Kaufman, professor of public policy at Pepperdine University. “The North Koreans duped Jimmy Carter — an emissary of Clinton — and the Clinton administration to subsidize the North Korean nuclear program in exchange for the counterfeit promise that North Korea would limit itself to civilian nuclear power.
Kaufman said the agreement tranquilized the West while the North Koreans proceeded to cross the nuclear threshold, which they announced in 2002 after pocketing billions from the West.
sounds strikingly similar to another nuclear deal that was made...

Yeah, sucks that Iran had to get rid of 80% of its centrifuges, 97% of its uranium and destroy its plutonium plant. This was the “worst deal ever,” candidate Trump told his cheering supporters. In fact, it was such a “disaster” that when given the chance to “rip it up,” he did just that. Right?

Not quite.  Once removed from the Obama-hating throngs on the campaign trail and surrounded by global policy advisors and defense experts, he was forced to admit it was working and he extended it.

There's just something inherently wrong about the world's leaders being such idiots. I keep thinking back to the Cuban missile crisis. We were on the brink of global annihilation. I'm convinced that if we weren't led by smart, careful, sensible, prudent leaders, it's very possible that none of us would be here right now.

I'm over here for a Teddy thread, but thought whilst I'm here, I remembered some salty NK ST threads by PurpleFaithful...and PF posted 3 pretty profound threads on the matter, that stood the test of
recent time.

MB's posts?  Not so clairvoyant, lol.

It will be interesting to say the least  whether NK really changes their ways over time or not. I have my doubts, but I'll take photo-op's with meaningless communiques over death and destruction.

The guy is a brutal, despot, thug that rivals the greats of history.

I dont like KJU either (ha, ha!)

Seriously though, I dont want that little f uck invited to Washington till they really prove they're going to evolve their nuclear ambitions and human rights doctrines too.

Now let's pivot to repairing badly tattered relations with our Atlantic Alliance. America 1st is fine. I'm convinced it can be done without destroying relations with the Allies. Those nations who've helped us keep the Russian menace @ bay since the 40's and have been our allies vs ISIS too.
