you beat me to it.... this is a football community,  personal shares are just fine on here,  just not religion and politics because those will wreck any community given time.

some can handle it,  some cant.

It's interesting how we can debate all things Vikings and have major disagreements or spats on anything from JJM to renewing Kwesi's contract or how he sucked at the 2023 draft...and it's like, "cool, let's have a beer now".

But as soon as we get to politics and religion, the rules are very, very different.

Heh...you have no idea...though, the post above regarding talking to a mirror in there is very true...an "echo" would also a good descriptor!

which is exactly why we dont allow them on this board,  but we do allow the personal stuff,  gives others a chance to gain perspective on our brothers and sisters for those that are willing to share. ( and also why I have a pretty much zero tolerance policy for BS in those types of threads )   but we move on now.

So maybe that's an indictment on how this boards users generally feel about politics/religion, on this board? Safe to say if people in here care enough to discuss a topic, surely they can stand being bothered to click a link to that board? If not they can't be all that interested in discussing it.

I had the unusual experience of seeing/hearing no fireworks at all this past 4th because I spent it visiting my brother in NorCal where the fire danger pretty much nixed the whole thing.

My dog, whose name is ROVERHATESAMERICA, approved!

I’m just here for the beer. When and where?

But does a post echo if there’s nobody there to read it?

When there's multiple people, but strangely only one real viewpoint...then, a thread can echo for dozens of pages at a time...!

That’s why they pay you the big bucks. Lol.  I think life would be a lot easier for you if the personal shit was at least placed in an off-topic forum. I remember jokingly posting about toenail fungus after seeing numerous insane topics at one point and people actually replied.

I think the sensitive topics area is a much better fit for personal topics and even shows people like.

You, of all people, certainly don't resemble that remark.

I'm not even sure what you're talking about.  I'm upfront with where I come from and don't hide my agenda in my posts like others on here.  I don't beg for sympathy with hypocritical viewpoints and am willing to fight them out.  It's the reason I think there should be separate forums.  Most other sites I'm on don't allow people to virtue signal how great of parents they are or talk about their favorite laundry detergent in the main sports forum.  Since it is a very small amount of posters here, it doesn't really matter one way or the other, but I still have an opinion.  lol
