So is this a Superbowl level roster now?
#11
Yes, it COULD be a SB roster. I've seen worse rosters win the SB.
The thing about football is its a funny game. The ball is shaped funny. It takes funny bounces.
The other thing about this game is it is controlled violence. Players get hurt.
I don't recall a team in NFL history that has gone through an entire season without someone important getting injured and out for at least a period of time. That's why depth is important. That's why these depth signings now are really critical in December and January.
Also, players (and coaches) sometimes make questionable or even bad decisions. Penalties get called for player mental lapses at the most inopportune times (hear that Blake Brandel? Our most penalized OLman last season?).

But I will say that this is one of the most balanced, stacked rosters (on paper, if everyone is healthy) that I can recall...and I'm including 2009, 1998 in that memory.

I think we've bridged the gap mightily. I'd say we're closer to that undoubtedly, but not sure if its Superbowl level. Lots of factors of course in play: health, cohesion, QB play, etc. Its only March. I'm asking what you think RIGHT NOW.

At assumed potential, on paper? Yes, or very close.

#9 will be a huge part of the equation, as will our coaching...but, the Commanders just had their rookie stun the NFC, I don't see why it can't be JJM's turn next.
Build on 14-3, take back the NFCN, break the ****ing curse. Simple.

From coordinators

game planning/ play-calling.

ability to win tight close games. Team poise.

the age of the roster,

Vikings salary cap situation,

This is the most confident I have ever been a Super bowl win is coming soon..

They need to gel, JJ has to develop , Special Teams needs to improve, Kwesi needs to hit in a draft and the pieces need to fit.......Etc. etc.

But I can see where this organization is trending. Upward!

It's a SB roster when they actually get to a SB. 48 years and counting.

Got clarity on the QB1 now, so let's ride and see what happens.

I was 17 the last time we went. One before I die.

I think it has the potential to be a SB caliber roster. I’m skeptical that a first year (starting) QB is going to take us to a SB, but I’m eager to be proven wrong. I think a lot of our big signings have serious injury/age related question marks. If 3 of the 4 play close to the peak of our expectations for them, I think it’s a SB caliber roster (assuming JJM is a super bowl caliber QB). If our OL acquisitions struggle or get injured, I think we’re in trouble (well relative to getting a SB).

I think a lot of our SB caliberness is going to come from being multiple, from having enough talent to attack and counter different playoff caliber teams in different ways. It feels like in the past, we’ve been really good at one thing, but good teams could counter that one thing and we just didn’t have an answer.

We shored up our two biggest weak spots on the OL and DL. I think we strengthen CB in the draft. Believe we also elevated our RB position. Overall, I think a better roster than last year. No secret it is going to ride on the QB play, if JJM gives us what Darnold did last year, we will be a serious contender.

No shit. I was in my teens, wondering what I'd do in this life. I never thought I'd be collecting Social Security and still waiting for another SB trip.
